100% local character!!!! Greasy Spoon at its finest. Only one person working , she told me she’s been cooking there since 1978!!?
This place sits right next to the race track and serves a good cooked yo order breakfast.
Fun place to go. The walls are covered with vintage photos, news stories and plaques.
LOVE the homey feel-when we were told to step behind the counter to “take a cup and get your coffee”.

This place was just bad, first time going, building is run down and dirty, paint peeling off the walls and ceiling and not like a little bit the entire place. Ordered French toast, home fries, wife ordered pancakes and bacon. After a long wait the young lady dropped our food of and said sorry it took so long I had to run to the store for eggs. Well I think they forgot they went for eggs because my French toast was basically burnt toast on a small plate and my home fries were like boiled cubed potatoes with no flavor, my wife said her pancakes were not bad but not great. First time and last time for us at this place.

On my way to Zen Relaxation Massage, I decided to stop here for breakfast. I had grits, cheese eggs, toast and potatoes. The service was warm and friendly. ?

Restaurant was very dirty. Owner and granddaughter VERY IGNORANT. We walked in with service dog and they refused to serve us. Even called Aiken Police. Very nasty all around and when trying to explain ADA, they were very blatant about not caring about federal laws. Owner stated she knows all the police, they eat there often and will get rid of us. Public Safety Officer Banks, Badge #881 even states he too doesn’t care about any federal law. Sounds like the department needs to let him go as he is a risk for lawsuits. Will be calling Attorney Generals Office and see how they feel. All ADA VIOLATORS.

FROM THE MOMENT ONE ENTERS THROUGH THE GREEN SCREEN DOOR IT IS THAT ONE IS TRANSPORTED BACK IN TIME TO AN AUTHENTIC DINER WITH ATTENTIVE SERVICE AND EXCELLENT CUISINE. THIS IS A LOCAL INSTITUTION THAT EMBODIES THE SPIRIT OF "POCKETS" CARTER AND CONTINUES TO MAKE HIM PROUD. ONE CANNOT VISIT AIKEN WITHOUT TAKING BREAKFAST AT THE TRACK KITCHEN.
Vegetarian options: VEGETARIAN/VEGAN CHOICES EXIST.
Dietary restrictions: THE COOK WILL ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS.
Parking: PARKING IS ABUNDANT.
Kid-friendliness: KIDS ARE WARMLY WELCOMED! AND THE WALLS COVERED WITH HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHS ARE CAPTIVATING.

There are little gems everywhere. For us, this is one of Aiken's gems. Very much a part of the horse culture and people. Awesome atmosphere or, better still, ambiance.... Now for food-It's just breakfast. By that I mean the quintessential breakfast. Nothing fancy. No Asian-Italian fusion with notes of .... Blah, blah blah. This is a perfect breakfast of French toast and bacon or cheese and sausage omelette or, and this is important to us, PERFECTLY COOKED OVER MEDIUM EGGS. For us, that's the true test. A real breakfast place can do over medium; pikers can't.Plain and perfect breakfast with horse culture ambiance.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars the food was amazing. Hands down the best breakfast I have had in Aiken. The issue comes with the inside. It’s gross, there is paint flaking off the ceiling and walls. The walls are stained. This place really needs a quick repaint renovation. Sad because the food was outstanding.
