Dolce Vita Italian Bistro and Pizzeria

Pizza was not that great but ok. Actually tasted better as leftover the next day. I like cheese but there was too much, and the flavor was just not there for me. Maybe there was too many ingredients and they just fought each other. I won't get the house special after their name again.Pitchers of beer not available,I had to order by the bottle. I like pitchers in a group setting. Atmosphere great, service commendable.

Saturday night at 6:00 pm is a popular time. We waited 35 minutes for a table (along with lots of other would-be diners). The staff was rapidly moving about the whole time so you got the sense they were working as hard as they could to deal with the crowd.

Once seated our drinks and bread (with seasoned garlic butter) arrived quickly. Those were followed by the side salads (get the house Italian dressing - tangy and scrumptious!).

Quite a while later our entrees arrived: a massive plate of spaghetti and 2 large chicken breasts for my chicken parmgiana and 2 good sized medallions of eggplant for hubby's eggplant parm. Very well cooked, crispy on the edges, tender in the middle. Nicely flavored marinara sauce. My only change would have been able to choose angel hair pasta in place of the thicker spaghetti.

Extra bread was provided when we asked. In short order we were asking for boxes to take home enough for future meals. Sorry we had to skip dessert as the options were tall and delicious looking. Olivia was our pleasant and hard working server and we recommend her?

Good food and was very pleasantly surprised by the above average service.
Attended a 16+ guest bday party and was assigned only 1 waiter. I thought, "..oh boy, it's going to take forever to get our food AND it'll probably be all wrong." WAS I WRONG!!
That young man was so efficient, organized and got every order right..
Did I mention that the food was very good?

Food was good, serving size was big. But that's about it. Place was dark, they served lots of different drinks. But I won't be back.

I am not sure where to begin but I am absolutely flabbergasted by the most rude and disgusting actions by the manager ( who by the way is the owner) .
The waitress who had no training whatsoever did not even ask if we wanted soup or salad which came with the entree , did not refill any drinks nor inquire that my wife's ravioli was hard as a rock and needed to be re made.!
The replacement ravioli took over an hour to come out and we spoke with the manager ( owner) about the poor service. She bought the waitress up in front of us , stated that we feel that she gave us poor service right in front of us and asked her to defend herself which I found totally inappropriate and disgusting ! I requested that the ravioli be removed from the bill and the owner stated that they would only reduce the amount by half and it was OUR fault that they would lose money by doing so. I would highly recommend not eating here due to the rude owner , poor training of staff and sub par food.

I just walked in this place, sat at the bar. I sat there for 10 minutes. A lady came out of the kitchen, walked right past me like I wasn't there! Poor service! My last time going there!

I have visited this restaurant on two different occasions the hours say open till 10 but I’ve gotten there before 9 and been told they are closing sorry.
Two strikes and I’m done. The lady at the front I believe is the owner, I would think she should say I’m so sorry you made a trip here based on our posted hours, we are closing but here’s a coupon for next time please try us again or something.

Ordered a cold cuts Italian, came hot with 3 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and hidden under a ton of lettuce. They also are a bit excessive with cheap greasy cheese on top of their entrees. Jersey Mikes does a better job than these guys.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. I want to start by saying our food was delicious! Everything was fresh and hot. The pasta was made from scratch. I had the Shrimp Scampi. My shrimp were cooked to perfection. My husband had lasagna. It was also hot and so good. The Greek salad was delicious and the vegetable meatball soup was so good.

Our waiter left something to be desired. We read the entire menu before he came to take our drink orders. The restaurant wasn't busy and we saw the waitress go to the next table twice before our waiter came to get our drink order. We finally got our tea and ordered our food. The food came out just fine but he saw our empty glasses and said he was coming back with more tea after he sat the plates down. Not only did he not return to fill our glasses, he never returned to see if everything was ok. We finished our meals with nothing to drink and sat for about 10 minutes before he returned. My husband asked him what happened and he didn't have an answer. I don't think it would have bothered me if I hadn't seen the other waitresses come back to their tables several times, so I know they have good service (which is why I didn't give them a very low score on the service). I can count on one hand the number of times I have not tipped the waiter or waitress at a full-service restaurant. The fact that it took so long to start, he knew we were out of drink and didn't return, I ate my entire meal with nothing to drink and the restaurant was not busy and he had no excuse why he never returned is what made me rethink my decision to eat here tonight. The manager did come to the table and apologize. I can't give them a bad review based on my bad experience since the food was very good and everyone but us seemed to have good service. We will go back but probably not anytime soon. Our meal was almost $50, so I'd prefer to go somewhere with a better experience for that much money.

Steak tasted like lighter fluid. Tomato “bisque “ was from a can and so was the salad dressing. Calamari was old. The fries were great, but so are Burger Kings. It would have been ok if we bought it from a gas station but for the price, food was really bad. We won’t be back.

OMG....Our Second Visit Here While on Business...The Service Was Excellent...Our Server Tori Knows Her Stuff...The General Manager Remembered Us From Before...The Food, I Got Lasagna was Wonderful...Can't wait till the Next Visit...Thank You All...

I am giving this place three stars because I remember how good it used to be and I know has the potential to be again! I used to eat here allll the time and I was so happy to have such a good restaurant on this side of town and in Anderson in general. The past few years the quality isn’t what it used to be and the feel of it is totally different. You don’t even get said hello to when you walk in the door. The staff kind of makes me feel like I am walking in on a private conversation when I ask to pick up an order or be seated. I don’t want to give up on this place, but I don’t eat here very much anymore. Sometimes the food is great, but I’ve also gotten some things that I can tell they just slapped together with no real consideration that someone is going to eat it. I hope things get better for them.

Don't eat in the bar area if you want good service. The bartender seemed to have control issues and did not take advantage of the help she had at her disposal. There are much better Italian places in the area as far as the food goes.
