On 11/7/2024 my husband and I were coming back from Greenville. We had missed breakfast and stopped here for lunch because they had wings. My husband got 12 wings and after eating 5 of them he said he was full. We left there and headed home. My husband told me the reason he did not finish his wings.. he bit into one and it was RAW.. as he didn’t want to cause a scene he just paid and we left. After getting home 3 hours later he was sick. Running a temp fever chills etc we thought it was the flu. Took him to urgent care tested him for flu and Covid both were negative. He was feeling so bad they told him to go on to the ER.. there test were ran and labs done.. end result COLITIS from eating raw/ uncooked meat. We don’t know much about this place but I promise you we WILL NOT be back! Please if you eat here make sure your meat is cooked thoroughly (not burnt either). I hope this saves the next person that goes in blindly like we did.

When ordering,my husband received the daily menu from the previous day while I was given the correct one.Luckily we caught on before he ordered & joked with the waitress about it. So from the correct daily menu I wanted the daily country meal but wanted to substitute the meat with another option on their menu....was told "no, they can't do that"...so I went with the menu. But when my plate was served they themselves had substituted all the vegetables without even asking me. Also a dessert was part of the meal but we had to ask for it & then the waitress served it to my husband rather than me & of course again it wasnt even the same item listed on the menu. The only part of my meal that was correct was the meat that I didn't really want. We didn't make much of a fuss about it but did call it to the attention of the waitress who acted as if it were no big deal. There was also a dessert as part of my meal but we had to remind her of it,cage then served it to him instead of me. That's when he noticed it wasn't even what was on the menu, again another substitute,he wanted to fuss but I calmed him down & he decided to mess with the waitress & told her he was allergic to this substitute item & she almost panicked.... I hope from now on she is more cautious about what is ordered vs what she serves. Not everyone will be as forgiving as we were. In my opinion because it was late, an hour or so before close, I really feel as if i was just served what was left, rather than what I ordered. But still the food was good. The waitress although clueless was friendly & cheerful. I have a feeling if we had made a fuss about wanting my order correct,she would have probably broken down in tears.
Dietary restrictions: They did substitute without asking, which could possibly be a concern for someone with dietary restrictions.
Down home food, well prepared and excellent customer service. Need a place right off the highway - taking a break from a long drive ? If so, stop by!
