My son and I ate there today and the food was delicious.
Food was good. Not off the charts but good. As first timers we chose Sunday after church. Quickly seated and served quickly. But the menu had no pricing and we missed the sign coming in. So sticker shock when we left. Yikes! May try again for a weekday lunch but Sundays will be off the menu here. AC was also struggling to keep up on 100 degree day.

Food is always good, but the service is phenomenal! The older guy that runs the check out is the sweetest. I’ve seen him walk older ladies with walkers to their cars, always opens the door for people (when he’s not busy), he’s offered to carry my food out a few times. He’s even gave us a refill for our to go order. I wish more businesses had a guy like him.

Food was good. A little high in price probably due to the location and size of the building. Service was good. The fried fish was good and had the meat and 3 special.

Price gouged. Paid $72 for three meat-and-threes. The owner’s reasoning? “Because it’s Mother’s Day.” I’m all for supporting small businesses, but inflating prices just because it’s a holiday shows your true greed. The food was also mediocre. Very disappointed.

Sizzle burger was just the right portion and very tasty. the sweet potato fries were prepared nicely and when paired with ranch, delightful. Best bird dogs in town.

Me and my family had went there Friday and I had got the baseball steak and I asked for it to be medium well they brought it out rare I had to send it back to get it cooked like I want it and I had a bad odor to it like it was spoiled and when after I got done eating some of it I couldn’t hardly eat it and we said something to the manager about it that was there and he said it was somebody had stepped in something and brought it in? That’s what I was smelling so we just got our rest of it to go. We had stopped somewhere on the way home. Got back in the car. I told my wife she threw that food out that meat that I had cause it had the car stinking and I wound up half to pull over throw it all back up I have been sick all weekend from eating there. I just tried to go to work now. I’m on my way home because I’m still don’t feel good from eating there so me and my family will not be back there.

A Delightful Detour to The Boondocks!
Tucked away in Anderson, South Carolina, The Boondocks is a gem that feels like a home-cooked meal with a side of Southern charm. From the moment you step in, it’s clear this isn’t your average dining spot—it’s more like a family reunion where the food actually lives up to the hype. The menu is a delicious celebration of comfort food, and the portions are generous enough to make you question your life choices... in the best way possible. The fried chicken? Crispier than my sense of humor on a Monday morning. The mac and cheese? Creamy enough to make you believe in love at first bite.
The staff? They treat you like an old friend, even if you’ve never been there before. And the décor? It’s got that charming, rustic vibe that makes you feel like you’re dining in your grandma’s kitchen—if your grandma happened to have impeccable taste and a knack for Southern hospitality.
The Boondocks is worth the trip off the beaten path. Just make sure to arrive hungry and leave room for dessert (trust me, the banana pudding is life-changing). I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’m wearing stretchy pants!

Food was okay. Way over priced. Paid $18 for a meat and 3 with a very small chicken fried chicken entree. We ordered a kids meal and they wrote it on our ticket and then scratched it out and charged us for an adult plate.
The servers were nice, however, we had several and one lady kept taking our plates as we were eating. She came to the table about 4 times taking peices and even took silverware off the plate I was eating off of.
Overall, horrible experience. Don't recommend at all. Attached picture of my $18 meal.

Have not been there in years because honestly it wasn't that good and overpriced. We pass the place alot driving on 81, saw oysters, catfish, and shrimp and grits added to menu. I told my wife we should go back and try it sometime. We'll we finally did my son came to visit so we decided to go. What a huge mistake food was not very good and so overpriced I think they need to close down and let somebody else come in there with better prices and food. Sorry for the bad review but I know now why I didn't go there and eat for so long because it really sucked.
