This restaurant/bar seems to cater to a very specific clientele. I'm guessing this serves as the Clubhouse for the Golf Course. There is a Pool and Marina as well. It seemed to largely be a "members only" kind of crowd. The wait staff was very nice and it was nice to see a local musician. As an owner, I wouldn't advertise live entertainment because the clientele seemed to be limited to golfers off the course, families living near enough to drive golf carts or retirees close enough to arrive by boat. I think they like it that way. A table nearby was louder than the musician as they "coached" a few kids playing wiffle ball behind the artist. The food I saw looked great but I didn't try any. I would not visit this restaurant by myself and ""craft beer", although from the same place as restaurants in Anderson, was $2 more expensive per pilsner than I've seen anywhere else. 2 beers cost just under $14.

First time here and staying around the corner, at Springfield CG, at Hartwell Lake. We Sat outside, in patio seating. Our server was knowledge and friendly! Had two refreshing cocktails,(Rum Punch and berry mojito) bacon wrapped shrimp, wings, the burger special, and a kids chicken tender meal.
Parking: In Front of the restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: Nice kid menus selection.

The servers were great. It ended there. There was 20 of us. Much of the food was served cold, some burned and over all just subpar. One person in our group didn't get their food until the everyone else was finished eating. There was some bright spots. The salads were very fresh and taste great, the onion rings we great.

Great place to have a beer and hang out with the family on the weekend! It seems they have live music on the weekend in the summer months which is always a blast. They have their own dock if you want to pull up on a boat too!
Parking: If you choose to ride over from nearby on a golf cart you can park it out back. Free boat dock to park your boat at while you’re eating too.
Kid-friendliness: They have a field in the back where your kids can run around while you drink and eat. They have outdoor seating which overlooks this so you can keep an eye on them.

Great local spot. Everyone in our group had burgers, they tasted great and the prices were reasonable. The building appeared to have some deferred maintenance but it did not distract us from the lovely views and the good food. We enjoyed the cozy, local, atmosphere and the access by water. We will visit again.

I was disappointed with the food at my recent visit. I don't mind paying more, I understand the economy isn't that great. My shrimp po boy had one tiny scrap of lettuce with two tomato slices that were sliced so thin I could have read a book through them.

Whether it is the phenomenal staff, or the outstanding and never disappointing food, The Local never fails and will always be my go-to place. Not only does the staff make sure that each and every customer are taken care of, but they are all very out going and engaging. The variety of food, taste, and portions are what I enjoy most. I wish this place was open every day of the week! Nothing but the best!

I’ve eaten here many times over the years but probably won’t again. The quality of the food has Seriously Deteriorated!! Specifically the Salmon used to be bourbon glazed nice thick piece of fish.. now small obviously frozen piece over overcooked no flavor nothing. The tuna was once the best but quality now is not good. The fried shrimp was good but the shrimp were very small. If you want bar food maybe it’s ok but for anything else go somewhere else till they improve food quality. All the waitresses are sweet and seem to work very hard as did the bartenders. No problem for me with the help just the food!!
Local eatery with a lot of bar style food. They do have some entree dishes, but mainly apps, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. I'd usually get a single pizza, but no longer on the menu. We were disappointed in their latest pretzel and beer cheese. I'm not sure I'd now order it again. They were both off. This past time we split the local burger and a wedge salad. They do have entertainment and karaoke on weekends during summer months. Also, corn hole on Wednesdays. This is an older building, but very popular with the locals. Some lake-front boat parking available, just not much.
We tried to walk in with a larger party to dine in and was willing to wait. We spoke with the bar tender and she began cussing at us and told us it was her “last day, she didn’t care what she said” and was extremely rude. Our group left and went somewhere else to eat. For a restaurant with mediocre food the service is TRASH!
