It is against both federal and state law to charge a fee to use a debit card even if I ask the business to run my debit card as a credit card. The person working the register refused to take the fee off. No manager was available at the restaurant. No manager was available by phone. I was told managers don’t have set hours.
Awesome Affordable food. Grouper nuggets, fried shrimp and complimentary hush puppies.
Many tasty sides to choose from: Had butter beans, sweet potato casserole, cole slaw and onion rings. Very friendly staff, owner and patrons. Will definiately come back.
Very this time.
So, my hubby and I live fairly close and often eat at SeeWee. We felt something was wrong when we walked in. We were not greeted for 10 minutes, despite the number of staff walking by. When we were finally seated, we were left ignored for another 15 -20 minutes.
We started noticing that everyone around us looked unhappy, and no one had food. When we were finally greeted by our waitress, she apologized that no one had told her we were her table.
We ordered and got our drinks. Another 30 minutes. That's enough for me.
We learned that the entire kitchen staff had walked out the weekend before. We further learned that the folks around us had been waiting for over two hours. We left.
Word of advice to the owner: if you do not have the staff and can not serve your paying guests in a timely manner, close the doors and quit valuing the money over the service.
Took us over an hour to get our food. Service was terrible. Food was overcooked. Will not be back!!
Went on the evening of 5/24. Was so so excited to try it out due to friends reviews. Waited an hour with no update, overheard a table that was sat being told the kitchen was messed up and it would be a while for the food. Table next to us then whispered they had been waiting almost 2 hours but were regulars and didn’t mind. They mentioned it was unusual and they had new staff on. Looked for our waitress for quite some time and unfortunately our toddler was losing his patience and we had to leave. Was disappointed we didn’t even get an update honestly, had we known sooner we could’ve changed our plans, freed up a table for them and left earlier instead of making our 1.5 year old wait that long.
Service could nicer.
Really good food. Couldn't finish it because it was so much! The server was so sweet, an older woman. I wish I remembered her name, she was awesome!
A restaurant that will not leave anyone indifferent! When you are on the road for a long time, tired and want to relax with good food - this is the seafood restaurant that will not leave you indifferent! You will like everything here: the atmosphere, the service and excellent food. The owner of this restaurant, who is 90 years old, deserves special attention! In her wise years, she continues to manage the business, does not leave ANY CLIENT without attention and talks with him :)) She has a family restaurant business from her parents and a wealth of experience. Be sure to take a short tour of the restaurant and you will find a lot of interesting things there, including an oil painting on the door! We hope to visit this restaurant again next time.
This little gem is dependent on what you are looking for in seafood. It is laid back and serves not huge portions, but enough to fill you up. A lot of folks look for the calabash styled deep-fried piled high portions of shrimp, oysters, scallops, and flounder. This is more a low-country fare. So only come if that is your intended want. The food is very good and cooked perfectly. You just feel relaxed here.

Wonderful lunch. Cute little place with a ton of local history
Delicious as always! I know it looks like a hole in the wall, because it is but you will not find better local seafood than this place.
Every visit has been top notch! I can't say enough for things about them!
We went for lunch. Such amazing food!
I’ve had it all: dinner, lunch, brunch and they nail it every time! Delicious food, a generous, knowledgeable, and accommodating staff who really care about their customers. There’s a down home vibe with an upscale attention to detail. It starts in that kitchen! Those folks can sure cook! Be aware if you do being 8 (or more) call and reserve your table because this place is popular and fills up, but they will get tour group fed regardless. Have fun and thank you Sewee for being my go-to!
