Moving here after 20 years in Japan, I was not expecting much. However, the Teriyaki chicken and Teriyaki steak was delicious. Basic miso soup, but was good. Rice for the sushi did not have any taste or rather gave the sashimi a weird flavor when eaten together. Overall good experience and will visit

Delicious sushi sustaining my recent sushi kick. Tempura shrimp roll definitely favorite over crab. Well established location in a strip mall, so nothing fancy, just the way I like it.

Low-key, casual joint with outstanding customer service. The food is great and can’t beat the prices. Try the jellyfish salad, sushi combo, with a tall Sapporo.. can’t go wrong.

was always a regular goer of this place in years passed, however the owner lady has become super rude and snappy at me and basically everyone in the restaurant. seems to busy to provide good service and even care if anyone comes back.

Just overall poor customer service… It’s usually just the owner working there and she’s rude… I used to literally come to this place twice a week and now I have just tried it for my last time because they are closed again… Don’t waste your time of driving over there Because they probably aren’t open. They just kind of go willy-nilly on when they want to be open. So like I said if you drive over there, and they’re open, buy a lottery ticket that day.

Used to love this restaurant and go to it regularly but I just experienced the rudest behavior it was appalling and with definitely make me consider going there again. I have never walked out of a restaurant before but there you couldn’t have paid me to stay there!! 15 years of restaurant and management experience and I never saw such rude behavior.

I am a frequent patron of the House of Tokyo, and have found that they offer some of the best sushi in the Beaufort area, The offerings are always fresh and tasty, and arrive at ones table quickly. Try the Mt. Fuji Roll, the Sunrise Roll, or just a Spicy Tuna Roll...delicious! I have also ordered the beef gyoza and sesame balls, and they are also first-rate in flavor and presentation. The miso soup lacks tofu but is served hot and tastes comforting. Jack, the sushi chef is pleasant, efficient, and skilled in sushi preparation and presentation. The server during the day is very pleasant and enthusiastic, however she may want to brush up on her table skills. A spoon is almost never provided for the miso soup...apparently one is expected to drink the soup directly from the bowl. I'm not sure if she has been instructed to only fill the soup bowl to half full (or less), but that's what is served. If one prefers to use chopsticks, a napkin is never brought to the table because they are wrapped around the silverware and if one doesn't use silverware the server forgets to bring the napkin until requested. The atmosphere here could be improved by screening or removing the bus tubs full of dirty dishes next to the sushi bar near the hostess station. Despite these few flaws, I find House of Tokyo to be one the best places for sushi here in Beaufort, and highly recommend a visit!

I'm sorry but this place is for the lack of better terms. Not the place to be. It's kinda gross. The tofu was absolutely mush. And the sushi reminds me of a less fresh version of Kroger sushi

The lady whom I think is the owner, practically selected what we were going to eat. The food was good but I felt kind of uncomfortable. She seemed to be is a rush to get rid of us soon. We had dinner there with some friends.

In my opinion, best Japanese restaurant in town. Food is just excellent. Cleanliness is A+. Fresh fish. The sushi man is a real sushi man.

This is by far the best Sushi place in SC in my opinion. It just hits different. The rice is always perfect. They should really give seminars on how to make the perfect sushi rice. The fish is always fresh and the sushi is always made with such care and love. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive! shoutout to Jack!

Simply outstanding food and service! Very few businesses in Beaufort that can compete with this family owner business. Everything on the menu is terrific...can't beat the Sochi!
