We ate there for our 5th time and everything was perfect. The soft shell crab sandwiches were outstanding. Friendly and courteous service is always a plus at this great local restaurant.

A bartender at Lost Local highly recommended Locals Raw Bar and he was right! The food was incredibly fresh and delicious! We split the carpaccio (blue fin) and the cabbage pancake and bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. Incredible! Everything was on point! The service was warm and welcoming and we chatted about what to try. We will be back!!

I was in town for a wedding with my wife. We recently came back from Japan and were missing the food. This RIVALED the okonomiyaki we had in Japan. We might have to make the annual trip from Raleigh for this because it was great!

This place is amazing. Excellent food with local ingredients. Went for lunch on a whim as we driving down to Savannah. 100% worth the detour time, would definitely come here again.

The restaurant is small and load, and over priced for what it is . The waitstaff was wearying jeans with holes from the middle of her thighs to the middle of her lower leg. Owner also spoke to a customer about a client that was unhappy with her order, say he was ready to toss it as she walked out . Not professional at all as I was able to hear that conversation. Went there twice thinking it would get better but not so much! Well not be back

We really enjoyed the food!! Definitely very innovative and exciting. I tried the sushi and really liked it. Other members of my family got the lobster roll and fried chicken and they both said great things about their meals as well. my only complaint is that it took a very long time for our food to come (over an hour). Definitely understand that things get busy, but thought they could have brought out the oysters and salads at least. Still very worth going for the food.

My husband and I had lunch today and it was just perfect. We started with raw oysters then each had a sushi roll and ended with the best French fries we have ever eaten!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Review | Local Raw Bar – Beaufort, South Carolina

Title: A Father–Daughter Night to Remember (and the Best Ramen I’ve Had Outside Japan)

Some nights just hit differently—and our dinner at Local Raw Bar was one of them.

I brought my daughter Nicole here for a father–daughter date night, and from the moment we sat down, it felt special. Warm, intimate energy. A room that hums without being loud. Confident, polished service that lets the food do the talking—but is there exactly when you need it.

Let’s talk about that food.

The ramen was, without hesitation, the best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan. Deep, soulful broth. Perfectly cooked noodles with real bite. NY strip that was tender and rich without overpowering the bowl. Kimchi, aromatics, and that soy egg with the just-set yolk—it was balanced, layered, and deeply satisfying. Not a “Southern take” on ramen. The real deal.

The sushi was equally impressive—clean, precise, and beautifully composed. Fresh fish, thoughtful flavor pairings, and rice that actually matters (a detail too many places miss). Every roll we tried was intentional and crave-worthy.

The other dishes on the table? Absolute standouts. From rich, comforting plates to refined, playful bites, everything showed confidence and restraint. No fluff. No shortcuts. Just excellent execution.

Service was dialed in—professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They made Carolina feel special without making it feel forced, which matters more than most people realize.

The X-Factor: Watching my daughter light up over great food, sharing dishes, talking, laughing—Local Raw Bar created the kind of night you don’t forget. That’s what great restaurants do. They become part of the memory.

Final Verdict:
Local Raw Bar isn’t just one of the best restaurants in Beaufort—it’s operating on a level that holds its own anywhere. Date night, special occasions, food lovers, or anyone who actually cares about craft and execution—this is the place.

I’ll be back. Often.

I’ve never put so much thought into a review as I’m about to but I have been blown away 3 times now so I need to post on the internet telling people this is the greatest restaurant on the east coast. So buckle up as I tell you why…. And head to Locals raw bar.

I can’t consume gluten. And at first glance the menu does not look gluten free but almost everything is actually gluten free. They have very strict cross contamination protocols and I feel so safe and NORMAL eating here. Only the breads, croutons, and buns contain gluten. Just let your server know and they will take care of you. The fried chicken is gluten free. Absolutely. Miraculous. It had been 3 years ( since going gluten free ) that I had not had fried chicken. And it was so good. And the French fries are arguably the best fries I’ve ever had. And I love love fries, no one does French fries like the locals raw bar. The chef, is so engaging and loves talking to his guests. And he asked how the food was. I explained just how long it had been since I had good fried food since I can’t have gluten. And he told me about a local flour mill that he gets his gluten free flour blend from and how he was happy I was enjoying my meal. On our way out, he stopped us and handed me a small to go container of that flour. And said go home and try to cook with this and see if you like it! (I sure have enjoyed using it) and we were shocked at how truly kind the head chef Hunter was with that gesture. This was our first time at Locals raw bar

On our second visit my husband and I had the fried chicken again. It was fantastic. So were the fries. I will never stop talking about how good the fries are. And this time we also tried the shrimp and grits. I didn’t know shrimp and grits could be so good. The absolute artistry that goes into these dishes is going to make this spot end up on the Michelin list. Highly highly recommend.

Today we stopped for brunch and had the shrimp and grits again. Fantastic again. Stunning. 100/10. And we also tried the Fuji bowl. I can’t possibly explain just how fantastically polished and well created that dish is. I had it this morning and I’m already craving it again. The staff are wonderful, we were greeted with kindness from all the staff and the chef once again. And I can most certainly say I’ll be making myself a regular diner at the Locals Raw Bar. It’s the highlight of the lowcountry.
