Food was wonderful. Service not so much. We had to wait 10+ minutes to get water and greeted by our server when we arrived. I had to get up to ask another server for refills on water, order dessert and get our bill. Our server sucked to be honest but the other employees seemed a lot friendlier than him.
It was a nice evening with enjoyable food. I wish there were more gluten-free options on the menu instead of just three. It would be nice for other diners to be able to select more cuisine rather than restricted to only three. It was a bit noisy for a Monday night and very busy.
First of all we were seated next to kitchen swinging door. Waitress did not come for a while. Food was over cooked. Chicken was tasteless. Salad was warm. I never post from open table but this was bad
We dine out frequently at better restaurants, and are often disappointed, especially based on the price. This experience was outstanding. Our server was excellent. The food was outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit.
The noise level was terrible inside the dining area! We couldn't hear each other at a 4-top. There were two groups of 12 positioned at opposite ends of the restaurant, so no matter where you sat it was obnoxiously loud. The dining area really needs some noise panels. Server Kevin was exceptional. The food was on par with prices, but the noise level was absolutely a turnoff.
Great mussel appetizer! Fiancé had a great sushi roll and my Delmonico Ribeye melted in my mouth. Incredible!
A lovely location. Our server was very pleasant. The food came out luke warm which did not impress me. The salmon I ordered was beautifully cooked however 'side dishes', you pay for - so you get the salmon and nothing else unless you order and pay for a side dish - gets rather expensive if you are a big eater. I wouldn't go there to eat again but perhaps for a beverage and to sit outside on these lovely autumn evenings.
What a wonderful eating experience in beautiful Beaufort SC! The weather was lovely so we chose to sit on the outside patio under the trees with a harbor view at sunset, very romantic. The drinks, food and service was outstanding! We ordered crab bisque, Caesar salads, Shrimp Pirlou and the Duroc grilled pork chop. The food was most delicious, we will definitely visit again when we're in Beaufort again.
This was our second time to have dinner here. At this point it was my last. The service was not good. The food was just ok. Not impressed.
Amazing dinner and service! The food was so delicious and we really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here!

One of our favorite spots in Beaufort. We had a reservation, of course, but were walking downtown earlier and we were seated an hour earlier as well, which was greatly appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful, but never pushy or intrusive. Drinks were excellent. Riesling and a Lowcountry Old Fashioned for this meal. Entrees were calamari salad and the Faroe Islands salmon, which were excellent. A chocolate mousse dessert and coffee topped everything off. Saltus should be one of your go to places everytime you visit Beaufort.
Had an excellent dinner. Husband had steak that was cooked perfectly and mashed potatoes which were delicious. I had the tuna nachos and was a perfect light meal.
The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere and ambiance (outside and inside) were beautiful. The salmon sashimi was out of this world; so fresh, and tasty. The mussels were good and the bread that came with them was great for soaking up the sauce. It had a curry flavor to it, so if you like that, you'll love them. Our table had 2 orders of scallops and the seared tuna. The scallops (with risotto) dish was very filling (3 large scallops with corn risotto) and the seared tuna was cooked to perfection. Perfectly seared and seasoned on the outside and the inside literally melted in your mouth it was so good. For the drinks, we all had the Lowcountry Old Fashioned (4 roses bourbon) which was great as well; it also had a nice hint of peach to it. Overall, one of the best restaurants we've been to in recent months.
Amazing as always. I have a special diet and the accommodated me well. Always delightful service and the food is amazing.
Visiting for a weekend celebrating a birthday and anniversary. Salt is is in a perfect location downtown. We sat near a window to look out on the sunset sky. Waitress was attentive and professional. Steak was cooked perfectly to the way we wanted it. Shout out for the steak sauce. A perfect amount of tartness. Scallops were also very good. The sweet corn risotto was the highlight of that dish. Crème brûlée with a candle was brought out. No one singing happy birthday, which is a good thing!!!! We will definitely go back on our next visit to Beaufort.
