We ordered three rolls to go. Each was listed for $9.95 on the web site. Somehow our total was over $46 (I had someone other than myself pick the order up who was not aware of the menu prices). We got a Molly roll with brown tuna on the top, gross. A caterpillar roll that should have had smoked eel on top but there was none, additionally the roll wasn’t properly cut so when we removed pieces the whole thing came unrolled. And the worst yet was the spider roll. That should have, among other things contained soft shell crab and fish roe. Instead it contained FAKE CRAB and cream cheese. There wasn’t a single piece of fish roe on the entire order. 1st, I DO NOT order or eat anything with fake crab. 2nd, cream cheese has no place in sushi (for me) and I never order anything with it in it. This whole roll was destined for the trash. The icing on the $46 cake was there wasn’t even wasabi or ginger included with the order. The grocery store does a better job than this and I can’t believe this place is even still in business

This is my favorite sushi place in the US. The owners will suggest options if you ask; these are among some of the best sushi items I remember eating anywhere. The maki is amazing here and the Sashimi is always extremely fresh.
My husband and I are originally from California and have had our fair share of sushi—but this place honestly blew us away. We’ve been living in Beaufort for a year now and can’t believe it took us this long to try it.
We ordered several of their most popular dishes—Monica Salad, Choi Roll, Birthday Roll, Snow Roll, White Castle, and Marine Roll—and every single one was amazing. Each roll had a clean, unique flavor combination, and it’s clear that a lot of thought goes into the ingredients and pairings.
We couldn’t stop talking about each dish as we left. It really was that good. The restaurant is run by Mr. Choi and Mrs. Monica, who were both so warm and friendly. They gave great recommendations, and service was excellent. We’re already planning our next visit!!

This is the best sushi I have ever had, it is phenomenal! We do not live in the area anymore, but when we visit it is always a stop we have to make. Birthday roll and Apple Blossom are the go to rolls!

Sushi Sakana is a small family owned operation, so there is a wait period as they make your order by hand - and every piece of sushi is SO FREAKING GOOD. This was our first visit and we tried the Birthday Roll, the Beaufort Roll, the Ashley Roll, and the 911 roll. They were all delicious - the top two were the Biethday Roll and the 911. The Birthday Roll was brought out wrapped in foil and on fire - the lady of the restaurant cooked it at our table and engaged in light conversation. This was a an absolute magical work of food beauty. It had a savory grilled taste with notes of sweetness and spice. The 911 Roll was more on the spicy spectrum, but absolutely enjoyable!! If you're in Beaufort and find yourself wanting Sushi - DO NOT PASS on Sushi Sakana.

One of the better sushi restaurants in the area. The food has always been amazing, fish very fresh and service wonderful. It's a super cute small, simple family restaurant with an excellent menu with options for all members in our family. They have a limited beer, saki and wine selection but we do not go there for the liquor. The snow roll and birthday roll will not disappoint.

They reuse the silver foil after they use it for fire roll on customer they cut it small pcs keep in the front of sushi box for pack the sauce on to go order it's so disgusting and they very proud of it
