Twice each month, I am a Red Cross volunteer delivering blood to the hospitals in three cities in South Carolina and I have passed this place twice monthly for two years -- without stopping. I decided to stop in today and I am glad I did. It is your quintessential small country store that carries the basic necessities, has gas, and generally some food. Entering the store, I saw that they had hot dogs and knew that I would get two. I got the basic dog with chili and mustard (they were out of onions) and they were as good as I hoped they would be. The chili has a mild "bite" to it. I also noticed on Friday and Saturday that the menu expands and I admired a plate that was covered in rice and collards, beans, fried chicken and a fried pork chop. I got my hot dogs and a soda to go this time but when I come by again in two weeks, I may have to order some chicken and whatever else is on the menu that day. The building is old and the store is small with only a couples of tables for dining but it is clean, the food is good, and the owner is as you would expect in a place like this -- friendly. Don't judge this book by its cover if you happen by or you will miss out on a treat. Try it, you'll like it.
