Not a complainer. But, when you pay $128 for 2 people to eat, you at least expect decent food. Not even close. Waited 30 mins for appetizers (they weren't busy) and they were 5 out of 10 at best. Wife ordered filet mignon medium, baked potato, and salad. Waitress said they didn't have baked potatoes, but they had mashed potatoes ?? So she said that's fine. I ordered a ribeye, french fries, and salad. At about the 1 hour mark, our food came out. My wife's filet mignon was absolute beef jerky. We sent it back. My steak was edible but the least flavorable thing I've ever eaten. I finished my entire meal before they came back with my wife's steak. This time, it was beef jerky outside, raw in the middle. But she didn't complain, until she tasted it. That thing tasted like it had been boiled in hot water and sprayed with liquid smoke seasoning. Absolutely unedible. Mashed potatoes were gritty and disgusting. By this time we want our check. That's when our salads arrive. Old mushy lettuce that you could tell by the look was also inedible. Went without a refill on my water until I was ready to leave. $128 bill and an hour and a half later I leave furious. Save your money and your time. Go somewhere else.

My boss took a group to lunch, so it was good. I had the chicken sandwich with jalapeño slaw. But it was regular slaw with jalapeño slices on it and no seeds.

What a wonderful find!!! Love the atmosphere in this place. A friend and I stopped in for a quick lunch. We both had the Tomato Basil Crab Bisque soup (which was incredible) and salads. We were in a hurry after waiting 45 minutes at another local restaurant only to find our order was never put in. The waiter here was so accommodating. Highly recommended!

OMG, what could go wrong at Sam Kendall's? Nothing. Ever. Arrived very early (4:30 for drinks), then ordered Shrimp and Grits b/c the byline was 'a different take' on the classic menu item. It was truly a great dish. Wish I had made a pic. My husband made the Oysters Florentine his meal and he raved about it. The service was spot on. Always there in a timely manner. Cordial. This restaurant has one of the most beautiful bars in restaurantdom, really beautiful! We have eaten at S K's many times over the years. It somehow maintains its ole time class and amazing food. Wish it were a little closer to our home!

I'm sharing our recent dining experience from Sam Kendalls because I feel like all the hype is misplaced. We ordered through a third-party app, because our car had just broken down and my husband wanted to do something special for my birthday. We waited eagerly for over two hours, knowing it wasn't the restaurant's fault for the delay. However, we were assured that despite the wait, our food would still be fresh and delicious.The anticipation was high, especially with all the rave reviews we'd heard about your steaks. However, upon receiving our order, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The side of mashed potatoes was pitifully small and tasted rotten. Both steaks were cold, bland, and left a strange taste in our mouths. Even the added shrimp on my steak were rubbery, sour tasting, and cold. And don't get me started on the cheeseburgers meant for my kids (but ordered off the adult menu) – they were burnt and were far from a cheeseburger, missing everything but the bun and meat.When I spoke to the manager, Sam, he seemed more interested in blaming the third-party delivery service than addressing our concerns. It felt like our feedback fell on deaf ears. Despite promises of a refund, nothing was done, leaving us feeling ignored and frustrated.In all honesty, I wouldn't recommend Sam Kendalls based on our experience. It didn't live up to the hype, and the lack of accountability from management was disheartening. We won't be returning, and I hope everyone else thinks twice. This was a complete waste of over $200 as we didn't end up even being able to eat more than a few bites and ended up making a frozen pizza instead.

I ordered the pork chops. They came burned on one side and so over cooked that I could have used them as hammers. My wife had the red snapper. The fish was fine, but the rice had an aroma and a taste that just wasn't good. My wife is Asian and she said the rice was old and should have been thrown away, she knows rice. I don't know if we'll go back. The service and atmosphere were both good, it was just the food that we had issues with.

Wonderful experience. Called and spoke with Michelle who ended up being our server. Told her we were on our honeymoon (which we were) and the excitement t hat she displayed made me know instantly we were in the right place.the service was great and the food was even greater! Will definitely be returning!

I got to the restaurant and I was told reservations were required even though several tables were available.Never had to make reservations in the past.Nothing says anything on the website nor Google about reservations being required.No worries after the unseasoned, bland, watery tasting ribeye I had the last time I ate here…If you wanna eat here on a weekend, be sure to make reservations.
