Steeplechase isn’t just a restaurant, it’s Alex putting his Southern charm on a plate and slapping you with flavor. Every bite feels like Sunday dinner at grandma’s… if grandma was a culinary assassin.

Great food, killer vibes, and service so good you’ll wonder if Alex cloned himself. 10/10 would eat here again!

Nice little place in downtown Camden..I love the decor and food is delicious especially their burgers and their Ruben sandwiches!

Stopped in around 7:45 to 8:00 p.m. on a Wednesday evening and was greeted and seated promptly. My server was on point from the start, taking my iced tea order and bringing the menu right away.

I ordered the ribeye cooked medium, with a side house salad (no onion or tomato) and the vegetable medley. The salad came out exactly as ordered, with their homemade ranch. It was a standard iceberg mix with two cucumber slices and a bit of shredded carrot—simple and fresh.

The ribeye was timed perfectly, arriving just after I finished the salad. It was cooked medium, had a decent thickness—about a half inch or more—and while marbling in restaurant steaks is harder to come by lately, this one had a little and was still juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned.

The vegetable medley was the usual frozen mix, but it was top shelf—cooked just right and not overdone like you often see. I sat in a high booth that was comfortable without being too soft. The building is a long, narrow historic brick space with a dark wood interior and a solid bar crowd, giving off a casual sports bar feel with a gritty upscale edge. Noise level was average—not too loud.

I parked on the street and walked a couple blocks, passing a charming old main street with historic architecture, including a bank building with huge columns that looks over 100 years old. It’s a nice little stretch of town.

Service was excellent—friendly and attentive. One standout touch: after I paid, my server offered a to-go cup for my iced tea, which I happily accepted. That small gesture left a good impression.

Only negative thing I can say is having live music. It's super small and so loud when there is love music. The food and service however are wonderful! I highly recommend the reuben and the onion straws!

Today, we got the soft shell sandwich special. Well, worth a try, maybe? Unfortunately, it was not good at all. It had a fishy odor to it. If it smells fishy, it isn't fresh.. Yikes. We go enough that better luck next time. I should've sent it back, but sometimes it's easier to let it go.

Moscow Mule Mondays are the best! The music city blackberry mule is what I come for. The foods good but a $5 super tasty mule is amazing.
