This was the first time we have been there since new owner took over. Over priced. ordered the flounder and shrimp plate $20 for 4 pieces of fish about the size of a half dollar and as thin as a potato chip and about 8 shrimp and fries. Burger was fair but not worth the $20 spent on it and the fried mushroom the breading fell off when you picked them up. For the price of the food they really need to step up the game.

I have dined here previously when In Chapin. Food used to be top notch. Now it’s overpriced and bland. Our hamburgers were very thin, overcooked and bland patties. Definitely not what they formerly were.

When I heard Higher Ground Char House was testing a burger topped with fried mac & cheese on a soft warm pretzel bun I knew I had to get in there! Added bacon of course :-) I've also wanted to try their flips but have always gotten the burgers. This time a couple people in our party got them so I was able to have a taste and that was also delicious. In my opinion they've always consistently had some of the best onion rings around. I'm not really a hush puppy guy but everybody loved them as well. Our server Josie was so friendly and attentive.
Special thanks to new owners Andrew & Kim Babcock for taking some extra time to talk with us. They spoke at length about their commitment to customer satisfaction and our community.
They completely understand there was some turbulence during the transition, and want everybody to know if you have an issue, please let them know immediately so they can do everything to make your experience exactly what it's supposed to be. I promise they're both very accessible and you can reach out to them anytime with any questions or concerns.
Catering to be offered soon so we look forward to hearing more about that when it's available.

Food was decent. We ordered fried pickles and there was very little crust. Some had no crust at all! The onion rings were great. I ordered the Hawaiian Heat chicken sandwich and it was ok. I saved half for later only to find the pineapple still had the core in it!
The plates for our appetizers were wet and not very clean. The area in the back where sat wasn’t very clean either.
Very expensive!

Needed takeout burger fix. 2 cheeseburgers for $40? Too expensive! Burger ok but buns continue to be weak spot. Need bun that will hold up. How about a pretzel bun or bagel?

First time dining here our sever Tara was new and she informed us of this but her knowledge of the menu was great. We started with the fried green tomatoes and they were amazing! We got the Hawaiian heat burger with cheesy fries and Char-noble with hush puppies but with their plant based option. The food was great, came out hot and fresh definitely will be going back to try more !!

Great vegetarian options, which is always delightful :) amazing portion sizes, super fun burgers and other menu items - you can tell a lot of care and creativity went into the menu. Can’t wait to come back and try one of the meatless flips!

Really cold and really loud. Great service, good burgers. But so cold inside the food went cold quickly. Child options should be available to seniors.

Not bad but not the best for the money. Nothing special. We were spooked by the C DHEC grade from 2024 but heard they degraded at an A. Since then we’ve gone a coupke times now and just not been impressed at any point. We really did want to like the place. Thus tine we arrived right at lunch opening. Our first impression was the music seemed loud, probably because there were not many people eating yet. Next, our waiter, albeit polite, was careless with our bill and almost charged us for an item we did not order. Check your bill! Also, there were four customers in the place at the time and our order took over 30 minutes to come out. That's way too long for lunch. All that said, there are much better restaurants in the Chapin area for the menu and money. Maybe if they offer a free bucket of balls across the street at the refurbished golf range that might entise us back. Other than that probably gonna stick with JR Cash for our informal fare.

Food was good, not as good as the last time we were there, but still good. Service was amazing as usual. Only reason I gave 3 stars for atmosphere is it was 40 degrees outside and their furnace wasn't working so I shivered the whole time.

I had the Dun Sum burger with pineapple it was delicious the burger was cooked to perfection. While chewing the burger and getting a shot of pineapple juice was a nice treat. The server she was very nice and spot on with her service didn't have to wait for refills on drinks. I would definitely recommend Higher Ground if your looking for a great burger.
