Well. Thought we would try higher ground after a bad experience right after the change….well walked in. At least 5 tables visibly open, told it would be a 5 min wait because they were doing something. Ok. I can handle that. Walked out and right when we walked out they called the couple standing out side and sat them in one of the empty booths. As we had been sitting outside waiting for about 5 minutes, a vehicle drove up and they walked in, and was immediately seated in one of the empty tables. Went in to check and make sure we had gave them the correct number and they said let me check and see what (sounded like Steve) wants to do. But yet the ones that just walked in got seated immediately. Wasn’t in the mood for junk so we just left. Will be a long time before I try again… sad as it was my favorite at one time and have spent quite a bit of money there!

My husband and I ate at Higher Ground for the first time Monday. We had the fried mushrooms for an appetizer and I had the pimento cheeseburger and he had the bacon double cheeseburger and seasoned fries. The food was amazing and delicious. The waitress was attentive had a sweet personality and gave great suggestions on what to order. It was a very cool temperature inside to eat on a hot day! I highly reccomend this place! Very clean inside! We will be back!

Just a short trip from Lake Murray but well worth it. This local establishment has great food, greater service and a homey feel. My wife had the Greek Chicken Wrap and I had a Char-Nobyl burger and both were served quickly, with a smile, and in a very comfortable environment. Higher ground had a fantastic looking menu and I wish we were in the area longer so we could sample more of the local favs. When we come back we will definitely visit again!

What a wonderful surprise! The food was amazing a 10/10! Love the fired mushrooms! The food is so fresh and hot! Big portions! A must try when you in the area! The service was fantastic!

Arrived told 20 min wait only 2 people ahead of us and 5 tables open as soon as you walk in. No one can have a seat and told it will be a few minutes. Just you have to wait at least 20 minutes and it is raining outside. 3 people come in for to go orders and are told it will be 15 minutes before theirs is ready. Others come in get theirs but nobody at restaurant getting to sit while they wait. Food is good if you can get it. Must have been a change in management wasn’t like this until a few months ago. Looks like to go orders are more important than customers showing up to eat there. We eat there at least once a week when we can get seated. But not going to wait outside in the rain or in the car when over half the front is open and 6 girls standing around talking but you can’t get food to the people waiting. May need to hire some kitchen help instead of six girls standing around doing nothing at all since none of them stop to talk care of us when we walk in. Had to wait to even give a name for the wait list.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while we have heard good things and today we finally did just that! The burger was cooked to perfection and delicious!! I loved the options you could choose from burger, fried or grilled chicken sandwich. This time I opted for the burger because that's what I was really going for (did not disappoint)however next time will give one of the other options a try. They have a variety of side items that fit dietary restrictions and surprised as most places offer just fried items. If you have not gave this place a try I highly suggest doing just that!

My wife and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now, and today was the day!!! From the moment we walked in and were seated in a comfy booth, we felt right at home. Our server Melissa was super friendly and gave good recommendations as we were looking at all of the fabulous menu options. We started with the onion rings (superb!) and each ordered a burger. Finished off the delicious meal with a slice of key lime pie and a cup of coffee. Everything was PERFECT. I have done my fair share of waiting tables and have been part of the food service industry for many years, and I would come back here again just for the great service, no joke. But the food? It was next level. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a yummy burger and chill atmosphere :) :) :)
