Relaxed ambiance, impeccable service, great choices on the menu and a wonderful wine list. Desert had so many choices that I ordered two and ate them both ! Definitely on my do not miss and must return lists.
Exceptional experience. From California and second visit here (daughter is an incoming Freshman at Clemson). Visited on a Monday and I'm always concerned about dining out on Mondays (is the best crew in the kitchen or is it their day off?, Are the ingredients fresh or are they leftovers from Friday and the weekend?). I'm happy to say that Rick Erwin's exceeded my expectations again in every way. Ordered rack of lamb and not only was it cooked to a perfect medium-rare the quality of the cut was top notch. From appetizers to dessert and coffee nothing disappointed. Staff is always professional and personable (thank you Grace). Extensive wine list weighted toward cabs, but has some nice French and Italians in there too. Highly recommend. Dining here will certainly be a highlight on our future trips to Clemson.
Our first time at Rick Erwin's, but definitely will not be the last! From the moment we stepped in the door until we left, a wonderful dining experience. Suggestions of appetizers and entrees were spot on. We had steak and scallops at our table and both were cooked to perfection and delicious. Don't forget to leave room for the crème brûlée!
The food was just okay. My steak was overcooked and the butter enhancement was much needed because there was little seasoning on the steak, however the enhancement did not have much flavor either. The sides were smaller than expected. The cocktails were very good. It was also VERY hot in the restaurant and we were uncomfortable.
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Jay took great care of us throughout the night and the food was delicious. The seafood tower was outstanding. It is a must for the full experience.
I had received a gift certificate from a family member (out of State) for Rick Irwins. This was used for my 20th Wedding anniversary with my husband. This was one of the finest eat out experiences I remember. The staff was very welcoming. the setting was very quiet and intimate. Our food was excellent ( special note on the Oysters from Prince Edward Island. We were also treated to a new corn bread added to the the bread basket. Along with the extremely staff we were seated to a personalized Anniversary card. My husband and I agreed this was a superb dining experience that we will certainly repeat. Hats off to Rick Irwins in ClemsonS.C
We were ready to be seated and was told our table was ready and then another group walked in up to the hostess and she sat them before us and then came back later to seat us. Not good. When our appetizers and Aldo main courses were brought to the table they went to the wrong person with their food. I think the waitress must have written the order placement down incorrectly. When we told them who ordered what they reached across to serve instead of taking the plate to the specific person. The food was good but not worth the price. My Caesar salad had very very little dressing had no salt and no parmesan cheese. The steaks were tender and cooked as ordered. The au poivre sauce was very salty. The mushroom marsala sauce was good. One person ordered pork chop and said it had no salt or seasoning on it. Hope this helps.
Top notch food and staff. Ask for server Jessica!
Celebrated a birthday at this upscale, a la cart steakhouse. Our filets, NY strip and bison were cooked as requested and very tender and flavorful. A memorable evening.

Absolutely Wonderful….Tree Nut and Soy Allergies? No problem for Rick Erwin’s restaurant in Clemson. I contacted the restaurant earlier to see if they could accommodate our daughter’s Tree Nut and Soy Allergies for her 21st birthday celebration. Without hesitation, they told us there was no problem. When we arrived, all of the staff knew of her allergies, they had a special table and birthday card ready for us, and we all enjoyed the most delicious meal. The Filet and 1/2 Chicken entrees were out of this world along with the Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts. They also refrigerated, applied candles, and brought out her special birthday cake that I provided. For those that have food allergies, you know how hard it is to eat outside of your home. So grateful to all at the restaurant for helping to make her birthday so special.

We went to Rick Erwin's for our anniversary. First, let's talk about the good: -great service, the wait staff were all extremely pleasant and professional. -the food was phenomenal. We both had the 3 course special and both of our steaks were excellent. -extras, I added that this was our anniversary on the reservation, and the staff signed and beautiful card for us and served us a couple of glasses of champagne. The not as good: -the website specifically goes into detail about the dress code being business casual, so we made sure we dressed accordingly. Only not find a table of gentlemen dressed in t-shirts and jeans. I know it's petty, but if you are going to stress your dress code, then enforce your dress code. Beyond this one hiccup, it was a wonderful experience.
We really enjoyed our dinner. The staff was excellent. Mae and James served us and they were absolutely delightful. Every course of our meal was excellent. Flavorful, fresh and the perfect temperature. Portion sizes were great. Peanut butter pie was amazing.
I had been to Rick Erwin's Clemson a few times before, but I was really disappointed. There is nothing spectacular about the food. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't great. There are many, many restaurants in Greenville that are way better at an even or lower price point. If I am paying that much for a meal then it needs to be spectacular. It wasn't. It also took a good while to get the food while the restaurant looked to be 30% full, at best. The other real gripe is that the service was suffocating to the point of being annoying. There were 5 different people who came to the table, including the hostess. While everyone wanted to provide good service I don't think they really knew how overwhelming and distracting it was. Maybe minimize the contact points and not have the "roving" Manager with the suit on come to the table 4 or 5 times to check on things. Way too much. Let the waitress do her job.
After many years coming to Clemson we finally made a reservation here. The restaurant was lovely and quiet. My only issue was we were seated and greeted by the water and menu staffer but our server didn't come for about 10 minutes. Crickets. The very nice water attendant kept coming but could not take our drink order or bring bread. Once the waiter came we were well attended to and the food was delicious.
Booked a reservation for Saturday evening for Clemson Parents weekend. Ambiance is beautiful, and the food was delicious. The best restaurant in the Clemson area that we have experienced so far. We will definitely be back. Our waiter, Thaddeus was great and on point with recommendations.
