The owner of this business is a nasty rude human being. He came out of kitchen ranting to my wife that he WOULD NOT re make the BURNT pancakes! I am appalled that any owner of a business would act in this manner. By the way you have an extra open table on Sundays now. We usually come 2 to 3 times a week, spend about 360 dollars a month , I guess you are independent enough to act so immature and have a temper tantrum, even the waitress was appalled at your behavior !
Made reservations for 8 the Sunday after Banana Ball game. Cafe had no problem accommodating our large group and seated us promptly. Four in group had eaten there before and other four had not. Everyone thought food was delicious. (Great place for grits if you're a grits lover.) Service was also very good, and staff had no problem handling a large group. Would highly recommend.
Ate here for breakfast while in town for ACC women’s rowing championships and it didn’t disappoint! Great food and service! Check out this place!
This breakfast was really good! I got the chicken and waffles, which is usually a favorite meal of mine, but this was exceptionally good. I swear the waffles must’ve had extra sugar in them, because they were so much better than any restaurant waffle I’ve had in a long time. The eggs were all farm-fresh and the bacon was applewood- both were tasty! I also thought this was a great value breakfast.
The restaurant is very cute, decorated well and well lit. I was seated very quickly since it was close to opening time, but my drink order was taken about 10 to 15 mins after I sat down. The restaurant wasn't busy with only 6 other parties in the place. My waiter wasn't very attentive, and didn't ask to refill my water or coffee until after he gave me my check. The food portions were huge for the price. The taste was decent. I did not feel welcomed in the restaurant due to the lack of good service. If you are ok with poor service and long wait times(even at non busy times) then the food might be worth it. This place is a one and done for me.

It's nice, aptly very sunny inside, service is quick and friendly. I got a falafel wrap and it was a LOT of food for the price, but it also wasn't very good. The falafel was very dense and chalky and maybe it needed more tzatziki sauce or it distributed better. I think I just chose poorly. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options and the menu is clearly marked concerning allergens, etc.

I’m one of four retired individuals who have eaten breakfast each Saturday at Sunnyside for nearly 7 years - until today, 3/29/2025. When two of our group approached the hostess for a table, we were told in very clear terms and in a loud voice that “you need to eat and leave” as they were busy and would have to “set a wait”. When we politely questioned what she meant, she moved closer and in a louder voice said “this is a restaurant and not a bar, and you need to eat and then leave”. Several other customers waiting for a table heard this and looked over at us in shock. In the several hundred times we’ve eaten here, spending up to 1-1/2 hours eating and socializing has not been an issue until today. I don’t know what prompted her outburst, as the staff (and food) at Sunnyside has always been a delight. She could have quietly and professionally communicated her concern, but chose not to. Given her very rude, condescending and totally unprofessional attitude, we will not be back. You will now have one more four-top table available for other customers each Saturday.

Seated quickly by lovely staff. Wait staff responsive. Very unique menu offerings. Waffles were wonderful but other items were average.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan clearly marked.

Three days ago, I went out for breakfast and ate at 10 AM. Six hours later, I started feeling nauseous and ended up vomiting ten times throughout the night. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. The doctor informed me that I had food poisoning. Even after three days, I'm still feeling unwell and haven't been able to eat anything.

The sausage is good. The eggs are good. The cheese is good. The biscuit was good. When they put all of that together though it was a mess. The biscuit got soaked in the egg and sausage grease and fell apart in my hands so it was just a plate of disintegrating sandwich.
Dietary restrictions: The kitchen refuses to make simple substitutions. I asked them to swap the potato cubes for fries and they would not do it.

The ingredients are high quality but the dishes are strange and they are not willing to make even simple substitutions
Dietary restrictions: Good luck. They won’t make substitutions on their dishes.

The staff was clueless. The waitress ignored us. We could hardly get anyone to come to our table to begin with. Wrong drinks given. Had to beg to get the bill and then had to wait forever just to pay and leave. Nothing about this place was worth the frustration or time involved.

I don't understand what the hype is about this place. I've been several times and several times due to the location.
The food is just okay. I've yet to have food brought out that hasn't obviously been sitting on the line long enough to lose its heat. The employees are I'd say a little on the snobbish side. Service is slow.
I think on work days that this restaurant is the lunch option, I'll just save my money and bring my own lunch.
