We were tucked in a corner and kind of forgotten about and then we ordered and requested no eel sauce on anything, they brought it with eel sauce. They fixed it but we are sure the waiter forgot. Also, asked for cream cheese to be added to a roll and it wasn't in it. Maybe just an off night

Good option for Japanese cuisine. I had the filet which was very good. Good portion sizes.

Too dark can't see what you are doing. They keep upping prices, getting to the point that we can't afford to come here anymore. Tempura sucks and you don't get much for what you pay. Years ago they did it traditionally, now the keep changing it and it's terrible. We ordered the shrimp tempura, it was wrapped in a wonton skin then cooked to death, so hard you could barely eat it. We told the our server, but he did nothing to handle it. We love to come here for birthdays, but I guess it's time to go elsewhere

We've been eating here for years. The quality of the sushi has dropped off dramatically. Our last two visits have been challenging. Last time our food looked like it was prepared by a two year old. This time was similar. My wife's sushi roll (which she has gotten many times) was disappointing. Stuff was missing and that drastically changed the flavor. We brought it up with our waiter and he basically said we didn't know what we were talking about.
It's a shame, but this may be the last chance they get from us.

If you’re looking for Japanese food in Clemson, this is a great place to go. We stop by to try out the cuisine. It was crowded so we did not get a hibachi table, but regardless it was just as delicious and fresh.
Jesse was our server and was excellent. Really attentive and made sure our order was correct.
For dinner, we started with a cucumber roll with extra ginger. Complementary miso soup and salad was provided. The dressing on the salad is very good and one of my favorite parts of the meal. We then had the combination of Tiger shrimp and fillet mignon. Quite tasty. The fried rice was excellent. Good portion sizes for the price. To close, we had the mango and strawberry mochi ice cream. Can’t go wrong with ordering that.
Overall, I love the decor in the restaurant. Makes you feel like you’re in an authentic Japanese restaurant. So with great service, excellent food and a fantastic ambience, I will be back.

Staff was very rude when we wanted to place an order and I called them again after placing it through DoorDash because we love Tokyo and want to keep eating their food they told us that their kitchen was closed and were laughing at me over the phone making me feel like a fool.

Mary was our waitress and she was very kind and helpful. My girlfriend isn’t a sushi eater so she took the time to find exactly what she wanted and my gf ended up loving it. Give her a raise Tokyo! ☺️🙏

If I relayed each aspect of how terrible our experience was in Tokyo very recently, this review would be an essay. In sum, this place is extremely disorganized, unlcean and the worst part...making so much money for very poor to mediocre quality on basically everything you can evaluate that they are indifferent to the customer experience. Sadly, during a protracted wait for everything (table, food, etc.) I observed some of the staff working as hard as they possibly could given the demands placed on them, but it appears they are devoid of support from adequate training, apt staffing and their efforts are diminished by apathetic and incompetent management.

If you’re an adult with an out of state ID, they will interrogate like your some foreigner. 21 years old from out of state working on the road. And they say “sorry we had a whole debate about your alls ID”. We’ve never experienced that. Quite unprofessional on their behalf.

Usually I eat dinner here but today I came for lunch. Service and food were exceptional like always! I genuinely love this place and they have only disappointed me once in the millions of times I have came to eat. Sushi is always fresh and hibachi is hot, not to mention their amazing soups and appetizers. I almost never do reviews on restaurants but this place deserves it.

The food was amazing from their sushi to their fried rice. They have so many varieties of rolls you can get for all the picky eaters out there. The portions were good, especially for the price you're paying. Customer service could be better. Honestly, I felt a little rushed by our waitress, and our food took forever because they accidentally put it in a to-go box for someone else. The guy at the front did check in on us, though, with some polite commentary. The food is a little pricey but completely worth it. The atmosphere was 5 star, however, with it being the perfect mix of upbeat and peaceful. This would be a great place to have a date night with the gorgeous decor and indoor trees with lights.
