My husband and I are regulars at Japan Diner, dining here almost weekly, and it never disappoints. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and we’ve discovered several favorites. My husband adores the Extra Spicy Szechuan Beef, Shacha Beef, and Orange Peel Chicken—all with bold flavors. I gravitate toward the combination plates with white rice and cheese wontons, always ordering extra wontons. The spring rolls and steamed dumplings are also exceptional, but the cheese wontons stand out with their perfectly crisp texture and generous, creamy filling.
For soup lovers, this spot is a dream. The Tom Yum Soup is a personal favorite, packed with shrimp, mushrooms, lemongrass, basil, and onion in a creamy, flavorful broth. It’s my ultimate comfort food, especially when I’m feeling under the weather. The Egg Drop Soup is equally delicious and never fails to hit the spot. Whether we’re dining in or taking our meals to go, the quality and care in preparation shine through every time.
Service at Japan Diner is stellar. Pickup orders are handled quickly through the drive-through window, and dining in is just as efficient and welcoming. With its fantastic food, friendly staff, and convenient location near Presbyterian College, Japan Diner has truly become a beloved staple for us. Highly recommended!

Rip off. I got 6 tiny pieces of sushi. I've never seen sushi made that small before. I left hungry and broke. The lady at the front was mad because I politely told her the person's were small making the experience even worse.

Seats are really uncomfortable and really worn. I felt like I was sitting on the springs. Roof looks like it needs repairs with the amount of damage to the false ceiling.
Food was decent enough and the beer was cold!

This place is amazing! The staff is super friendly, and the service is top-notch. Every time I visit this city, I have to stop by and get the best Chinese food in the state. The flavors are always spot on, and the menu has so many delicious options. Whether you're dining in or taking out, you can't go wrong with this restaurant. Definitely a must-visit spot for anyone who loves great food!

The food is so much better when you dine in. That being said if you order takeout you will not get the same dish you ordered if you ate inside. This kinda pisses me off beccause I pay the same for each meal
Everything was great. I was amazed at the way they cooked the food right in front of you. The company was great also.

Located in Clinton by the 56/72 split, sits this little gem of a restaurant next to Waffle House and a couple minute walk from Presbyterian College. Came here because it was recommended and I got the Japanese combo; Steak and Chicken and added an egg roll to it.
Steak and Chicken Dinner was good, with plenty of flavor in the sauce. Chicken was a bit hard on a couple of the pieces and Steak was chewy on a couple..but no complaints here. However..the rice seemed a bit bland compared to other places in the area; even though that could be because the sauce used for the meal part was rich in flavor. Carrots had a nice flavor to them.
Plenty of parking, I give 7* out of 10 and will be back to try something else.
Parking: Plenty of parking between here and the Waffle House next door.

Been here many times now and this place always delivers a great meal. Clean restaurant, friendly staff and great food. Pork lo mein is the best I’ve had anywhere. Will definitely be back.
