Salsa was good, queso was okay. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak fajitas. I ordered shrimp (camarones) a la diabla, it’s my go to in every Mexican restaurant; I mean it’s hot and spicy shrimp, you can’t mess that up right? Well there was no spice, at all, it honestly tasted like tomato sauce with red bell pepper. It was over $17, I might as well got shrimp cocktail. That being said, the atmosphere was good, defined a place to go to cut back and watch a game and maybe joke around with the severs. Their bartender makes a great Bloody Mary (it was spicier than my shrimp à la diabla). My boyfriend loves the place, we just don’t recommended ordering anything that claims to be spicy unless you want to add your own spice..

The vibe is crazy... We went in late in the evening and we were met with happy faces, jokes, laughs and the Chile Verde was so so good 🙌🏽 Back several times still good. Good service, good food bunch of handsome faces. Watch extra charges though!

The food was awful. I do not recommend this restaurant and do not plan on ever returning. 🤢 service was good but even with good service I would not recommend eating here.

I’ve eaten here several times the last being in April. We enjoyed the food very much. Tonight the enchiladas were awful both the beef and chicken- an orangie sauce was on both- tough meat on both - no favor! Will be the last time here. Yuck!!

The best Mexican restaurant in the area. We've been coming for years and have enjoyed so many diff dishes from their menu. They are so quick too with to go orders. Our favorite place in the area.

This was my second time eating at Rey Azteca while visiting my family here. Coming from Arizona and California were I have been blessed with amazing Mexican cuisine I have to say that Rey Azteca is a must visit spot in Lake Wylie if you want some amazing Mexican food, great service and great drinks. Everyone was friendly, the service was attentive, and quick. And great prices! I highly recommend. I would have taken photos of my food but I devoured it all!

I see reviews from years ago and many of the comments are exactly what I experienced tonight (8/15/25)

The service was slow which was surprising as there were about 20 people standing around doing nothing in a packed restaurant.

No water, unless you count the $24 pitcher of margaritas. There is very little alcohol in their drinks. Avoid.

The food enchilada chimichanga dinner was disgusting. The were small, microwaved and sitting in about a 1/4 inch of water.

Beans and rice? Literally the worst I have ever had. We sent our meal back, drank out margarita flavored water and skeedaddled.

A number of other Mexican options in the area. This place was atrocious.

Great experience. Seated right away, chips and salsa delivered immediately. Beverages next, real quick. Got the 12 inch burrito this time and it was very flavorful. Waitress was quick and friendly.
