I have been eating at this restaurant for almost 20 years. Today, I was meeting a friend for lunch. When I got there, the young man at the door told me I couldn't sit at a table until my entire party arrived. So, I told him I wasn't waiting for anyone and he told me a solo diner couldn't sit at a table! He said these have been the rules for the past 2 years. That's a lie. I have eaten there numerous times on the weekends AND when it was really busy, and I have NEVER been told I couldn't sit at a table alone or that I had to wait for everyone to get there. BTW: there was NOBODY waiting! I had to stand along the wall until my friend showed up because I couldn't sit at a table alone! Then (at 1pm- during the busiest lunch hour) they decided to shut down the grill to clean it. Our order was the last one to cook and they chose to close and clean the grill BEFORE making our food forcing us to wait an extra 20 minutes. When I got my food, my grits were so cold they didn't even melt the cheese. Awful! Absolutely awful customer service AND food. Will NOT return!

This was my first time trying a Waffle House, and it was exactly what I thought it was going to be, acceptable road food. I went in expecting an IHOP or Denny's quality roadside breakfast and that is exactly what it is. It was clean and friendly, a bit too loud, and crowded, but I waited only 5 min. for a counter seat. Menu is loaded with items and options. I had the City Ham and Eggs, they were good, the hash browns I hear everyone rave about, were greasy and undercooked and the biscuits and gravy were just alright. Would I eat here again? Yes and no. I'm not going out of my way to go to Waffle House, it's just not that good. But if I'm on the road, and need to eat quick, solid breakfast that meets road standards, then yes I will eat here again. I would choose it over a Denny's but not over IHOP.

We arrived very hungry. We endured a long wait due to this place was constantly packed. The young Man that was at the door greeting people and counting how many in a party to seat, was also cleaning and preparing tables for the next in line guess too. #HeWasOutstanding #TippedHimToo
After 30min we 3 were seated and now we understood why this Waffle House is so popular šŸ‘ŒšŸ½ šŸ˜„ the waitresses especially Melissa was šŸ’Æ% the best. She wrote nothing down got all 3 orders correct. Wow! The cook showed his great talent of cooking everything we ordered just right. Oh BTW he was also the manager upon my asking to speak with the person in charge of this #TeamExcellent #CannotWait2visitThis1Again

The world needs more people like the staff here. From Ashley, to Lei Lei, Melissa, Rico, the entire staff is so friendly. The food is always cooked perfect just the way we like it. WH runs as good as it does because they hire people like these.

Alright, buckle up, folks, it’s time to hash it out with a review of Waffle House in Columbus, Georgia, served up hot from your ol’ pal, the corniest dad this side of the Chattahoochee! Picture me in my finest socks-and-sandals combo, grilling burgers in a drizzle, with a pun for every patty. This ain’t just a diner—it’s a waffle wonderland, and I’m here to dish out some sizzling praise with a side of groan-worthy dad jokes. Let’s get this breakfast bash started!

First off, the **menu** at Waffle House is a real *waffle wallop*! From their golden, crispy waffles to the All-Star Special—piled high with eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns ā€œscattered, smothered, and coveredā€ (that’s diner lingo for loaded with onions and cheese, kids)—it’s a meal that’ll make your taste buds salute the flag. I ordered a pecan waffle, and let me tell ya, it was *nut-tastically* delicious, so good I nearly *waffled* on my diet! The variety here is a home run for any hungry patriot.

Next, the **service** is faster than a jackrabbit at a Fourth of July picnic. The staff? They’re friendlier than my neighbor’s golden retriever, always ready with a smile and a refill on that coffee quicker than you can say ā€œstars and stripes.ā€ Our server, Jenny, was an absolute *gem-erald* of the diner world, keeping our mugs full and our spirits fuller. It’s like they’ve got a PhD in Southern hospitality!

And let’s talk about the **atmosphere**—it’s got that classic diner vibe that’s cozier than my favorite lawn chair. The jukebox hums with tunes, the grill sizzles like my backyard BBQ, and the neon glow screams, ā€œWelcome home, y’all!ā€ It’s the kind of place where you can *ketchup* with friends or just *hash* out life’s big questions over hashbrowns.

Here’s a quick anecdote to *butter* you up: On my visit, I dropped my fork mid-bite (clumsy ol’ dad!), and before I could say ā€œscramble my eggs,ā€ Jenny swooped in with a new one, winking, ā€œDon’t worry, we’ve got more forks than a road full of porcupines!ā€ I chuckled so hard I nearly spilled my coffee—talk about a *brew-tiful* moment!

Waffle House is the *griddle* of the American dream, serving up comfort food with a side of heart. If you’re not dining here, you’re *waffling* on a five-star experience. Grab your flip-flops and head over—it’s a *batter* of fact, you’ll love it!
