This is a lil hidden gem in Darlington. My family and ordered a few separate dishes. Fish, chicken and ribs. All very good. Even the sides were good. Fried Okra, string beans, lima beans and Mac n cheese. The only down side was they are under staffed. Slow service. Hard to get an order that's less than 30 mins wait time. Guess people that frequently eat there know this.

Tips From A Bellman
I came here on September 24th on my way to Charlotte to fly back to Las Vegas , which also was my birthday. I grew up in Bennettsville and one of the things I love to get when I visit the Carolinas is Chicken Bog. Well , when I was in Myrtle Beach I guess I missed all the places that serve it only one day a week , usually Friday or Saturday. I called around and no one had it the days I stayed there. So when I stopped in Bennettsville I started calling places in Charlotte to see if I could get some before heading out , nope. Half the places I called who called themselves Southern Restaurants or such , didn't even know what Chicken Bog was , what !
So , I looked up on Yelp and Nick's came up. I called and the lady I spoke to said they make it everyday. So I drove the 30 minutes to get some since I still had time to get to the airport. The place is small , but clean , and seemed pretty busy with lots of people calling in their orders for pickup and a few diners like me. The 2 ladies behind the counter were nice and my order was received pretty quickly. The menu is pretty large for a small bbq place. If I lived close by I would've liked to try more things they serve.
Well now to the Chicken Bog. It was a big helping and came with hush puppies. I could've got more sides , but I just wanted to be simple to eat and run and I got a bottle of Pepsi. It looked pretty much like the usual yellow rice with shredded chicken. I did notice that there was no sausage and I asked one of the ladies and they said they don't put sausage in theirs which most times I've had it does and sometimes small pieces of green and red peppers which weren't in there either.
So it was a little more bland than I'm used to. It was almost more like Campbell's Cream of Chicken with shredded chicken added to it. I'm not trying to be mean , but it was a little disappointing. I added some pepper to help it out a little bit. The Hush Puppies were pretty good. I'm sure more of the food is probably better since the place seems to be pretty popular. I will also be making a YouTube Short of the place and I hope it gets them a little more business and gets the word out about them. One of my classmates who lives in Darlington now saw the pictures I posted on Facebook and she said she had never heard of this place and asked where it was. So I sent here the Yelp page.

Traveling through the area, we wanted barbecue. I must admit when I walked in I was a little concerned, it didn't look like the kind of barbecue place we usually stop at. We were pleasantly surprised, the pulled pork was excellent, as was the sweet potato casserole, coleslaw was creamy with just the right amount of pepper. Also ordered the double cheeseburger and it was retro style, big and delicious. Now I wish I lived local...
This restaurant has the absolute BEST key lime cake, I come all the way from Cheraw just to get some and the coconut cake is delicious as well.

The burgers are always on point.I have had really good potato salad here before, but the recipe is not consistent. Today, it wasn't even edible an unfortunate waste because the main thing I wanted. ?
First time checking out the place and loved it. Small, but we didnt go inside and opted for the convenient drive-thru. Service was quick and friendly. The food has soul in it for sure and was spot on deliciousness. Cant say the big chains will see us again now that we've discovered this gem!

Excellent double cheeseburger, A bit pricey- that plus a large soda was around $11- no fries. Would be the only reason I may not get that again or return. They have charged me $.55 for a cup of water in the past which was absurd. All the food is good except at times I have gotten soggy fried chicken and BBQ that had been frozen or perhaps leftovers but not made that day for sure.
