⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 Review – Sonic Drive-In, Darlington, SC
Visited around 5 PM on a Friday, and I understand that’s a peak time—things were definitely busy. Stalls 1–8 were full, and while stalls 9 & 10 are marked for mobile pickup, the app wouldn’t recognize them. Stalls 11–14 were hit-or-miss (maybe two working), also full, and the drive-thru had a line.
With my party of 3, we decided to sit at the picnic tables and checked in on the app using stall #15. It’s July in South Carolina, so please consider adding a fan out there—it’s hot. We waited 30 minutes before a team member finally came out and asked if we had ordered. I let her know I ordered via the app and checked in as stall 15. She asked for the details of the order and went back inside.
She returned fairly quickly, which leads me to believe our food had probably been ready for 10–15 minutes. Our meals were room temperature, and our slushies and cream cooler were sadly melted by the time we got them.
Was everything edible? Yes. The Big Dill Double Sonic Smasher was actually really good. But it’s frustrating to order ahead via the app, check in, and still wait 30 minutes before anyone acknowledges the order.
We’ll give Sonic another shot, but I strongly encourage management to take a look at staffing levels and mobile order support—especially on peak times. Don’t cut corners where customer service is concerned.
Don't bother with the shakes, got 2 master shakes, they put whatever type of shake on the bottom, like oreo, then fill it with soft serve ice cream, never mix it, so you end up with vanilla ice cream in a cup and the "mix" on the bottom, pathetic... never again.

Idk who the owner feels like are “Good employees” but he/she needs to do better searching. This is for the Sonic in Darlington. the fact that not once but 4 times in the past 2 months I have tried to order something, there is always either someone who has an attitude or just simply doesn’t want to work and has to, just poor customer service all together, or when I literally started to order one time, they stopped me mid order and said they can’t order my food and that they’re done taking orders. (My kids were wanting ice cream.) ALSO I CAN’T EVER get anyone on the microphone (4 Times that this had happened) and everyone is literally just sitting around talking or outside by their cars. It’s sad actually. If I were to do that type of service at my job I would lose my job on the spot. Smh. I don’t ever post about a business but this is bad business and my little comment won’t make a difference (I’m not stupid I know) but at least it’s out there. Do better. Honestly.

Who puts two hotdog buns together then acts like it’s a real bun and after 40 minutes of waiting and you said you didn’t have big hotdog but then give me this I will not be going to this restaurant again it’s terrible and the ppl working here are stupid

For your premium burrito, it should be listed there are jalapenos in it. It is not, and not everybody likes jalapenos, like Me!!! Also when it is requested that your food be "cooked to order" you have employees who have no idea what that means.

We went to sonic tonight to get the kids milkshakes. It was very busy and all the staff and ownership were new and training. They made a few mistakes with the order but were so nice and willing to correct it. The owner came and spoke to us and apologized and explained they were all new employees and were training. She was very nice and apologetic. You don’t see many business owners around this area that take accountability and have great attitudes. I cannot remember the owners name but she was as nice as she could be and i wish her all the best.

I visited the establishment on Friday, August 30th roughly 11:10pm after a Darlington High football game. I ordered from the stall instead of the drive thru...the young lady who took my order barely let me finish talking before asking "is that it" then when I asked about a particular item that was clearly on the screen she RUDELY stated "we don't have that". Then I asked again, she again RUDELY repeated herself. However, my amazing car hop Amarion saved the day and provided me the item of which I requested. THANKS A MILLION Amarion, you rock and deserve a rise for your high level of customer service!!!!

Went there today 7/23/24 to order food for my boss and co workers. I couldn't even complete my order bc the lady kept asking is that all. Then I get back to.work and most of the food is burnt and dry or stale. The money the places charge for food now and then you get inedible stuff it's ridiculous.
