Christmas lunch at my job was provided by A Taste of Distinction. It was a nice thing for them to do, and I do understand that it was something they did not have to do. The menu was cubed steak, mac and cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes, white gravy, a roll and your choice of tea or lemonade. For dessert there was peach cobbler, (note)I don’t eat anyone’s peach cobbler, not even when my mother use to make it, and she did that “old school Soulfood cooking”. It was serve yourself, buffet style. First of all not everyone can cook cube steak and make it tender, A Taste of Distinction is one of them. It was fried in a flour coating, and the piece I got was tough. The green beans tasted like they just opened the cans, poured them out and heated them. No seasoning at all. The mashed potatoes tasted “semi homemade”, meaning they tasted instant, but they might have cut up some fresh potatoes, to make them have some pieces of potatoes in them. The white gravy was just that, white gravy with black pepper. The lemonade was ok, a little too tart. The mac and cheese was actually not that bad, it was the best thing from the Christmas lunch. Most of the food was bland without any seasoning. This was not my first time eating from A Taste of Distinction, I dined there many many years ago at a birthday party, I wasn’t impressed then and I wasn’t impressed this time. I can’t speak on the peach cobbler, I did hear comments about it. The 3 stars(and that’s being generous) are for the mac and cheese, I can’t speak for anyone else’s tastes, this is my opinion.

I am sooo sorry to write this but I would like to ask if the staff has eaten the food that they prepare? We were there recently for the buffet and it was just awful. We have eaten there several times over the years and this last time will be our last time. It might have been an off day. (i hope so) but I would like to know if the staff eats the hot food before they serve it?

Always delicious, many different meats and vegetables to choose from. Salads vegetables and congealed to choose from, plus varieties of desserts.

Taste of Distinction exceeded our expectations, fairly short notice, they had a slot to fit us in. They made wonderful food and the accommodations were perfect. We would recommend Taste of Distinction to anyone.

Food is always good, but now they have started rationing the food. They ran out of chicken pot pie and turkey at 12 on Sunday. I asked the lady owner if they would put out anymore and she said no they were not going to put anymore out. If I'm paying 32.00 for 2 people we should be able to eat the food we want not be told we can't have anymore! Not to worry I won't be back.

Delicious place to eat Sunday lunch…… the buffet had 12 meat choices (including ribs and chicken) as well as any veggie sides you would want. The turkey and dressing casserole was very tasty! They have a nice nice soup and salad bars. Price was very reasonable, $16 tax included.
