Don Jose Mexican Restaurant

We noticed at our favorite Mexican eatery in Florence the beer on tap was usually warm so we tried San Jose for the first time. We sat at the bar for dinner. Husband's beer on tap was ice cold in a big frosty glass mug. My Jumbo House Margarita was really good. The bartender was so gracious as we inquired about some of the unusual looking drinks he was preparing and filled us in on details of some of the most unique cocktails I've ever seen. Chips and salsa delivered to us immediately and were warm and crispy along with really good sauce. We ordered the Texas guacamole and it's amazing. We didn't have to add any salt or lime. Food order arrived at a reasonable time. My chicken falunta's were crispy on the outside and the chicken inside was moist and tender. Hubby got the "A Little of Everything" plate and could only finish half but dusted the leftovers later that night. After enjoying chips, salsa, guacamole, Flauntas, two huge platters of "everything", two draft beers and a jumbo margarita, the bill was only $60. What a bargain! Place is beautifully decorated and furnished and clean, really nice wait staff and delicious food. Making San Jose our only "go to" for Mexican!

This is mine and my bestie favorite place. We go in for a margarita and a couple of shots. We leave having a pitcher of margarita and double the amount. The Santa Fe rolls and chorizo dip is amazing.

This is only for the service on 11/15. I go here often. However, today the hard tacos were stale and chewy. Not good at all. 6 chicken street tacos, 6 steak street tacos, large shredded cheese and queso cheese. So disappointed.

I picked up my dinner and return home to realize no flan. I drove 20 mins back for the flan. Cashier said she forgot to ring it up. I ask if she’s going to charge me, she said yes or I can speak to mgr. I told her no need for mgr, paid for flan, drove home, then accidentally left flan in car all night and hot next day.

I return to restaurant today & explain to mgr that I’d like for them to throw away the unopened flan because I don’t think it’s safe to eat egg custard that’s been out all day & night. He throws it away. I ask if I can have a new order of flan ($4) for free. He said no. There was no moving him even with the story of what happened the day prior. Mgr, it’s ok you said no, but that really hurt me as a frequent guest and big spender at your establishment. Your no could have also been said compassionately

Never again. Up your Customer service/people skills.Do better with getting orders right, the first time.

Food was very good restaurant is very clean people very helpful only thing is they are quite prices. We got 2 chicken burrito and nothing came with it and it was $ 47.98
