Brad and the staff at FREEMANS BAKERY are just the best. They have been there since the sixties and definitely know what they are doing. Delightful local artisan pastries made with care and Pee Dee Flair!!! WOOO!!
We were there a few days before Christmas so it was pretty busy. Took a number and waited our turn. We weren't in a hurry so the wait was not a problem. It wasn't very long either. We come specifically for the gingerbread men and whatever else strikes our fancy. The gingerbread men are a little spicy and chewy... They are absolutely perfect. I am not in Florence often but this is a stop I make every time before heading home just to get a couple of cookies!
I grew up in Pittsburgh and I am used to real Italian food and real baked goods. I have lived in the south for almost 28 years, and i have yet to find a decent pizza, or any Italian food. Yesterday, I was in an area of Florence I had never been before, and I saw the sign for Freeman's Bakery.
