You know how memories of a place often exceed the reality? Not so with our recent stop at Shoney’s in Florence, SC. We used to drive the I-95 corridor to Florida every year when our kids were small, and the favorite stop for us and our kids was Shoney’s. We haven’t been in many years and it lived up to our fondest memories. We had their Thursday buffet which included a beautiful salad bar and an outstanding breakfast bar. Everything was fresh, and the hot foods were hot....

STOPPED ON OUR WAY TO A CRUISE OUT OF CHARLESTON SC. LISA WAS OUR SERVER AND SHE HAD A GREAT PERSONALITY AND NEVER LET US RUN LOW ON DRINKS. WE STOPPED AGAIN ON OUR WAY BACK TO HOME. WE REQUESTED HER AGAIN AND SHE REMEMBERED US AND THANKED US FOR REQUESTING HER. SHE HAD A AWESOME PERSONALITY AND EASY TO TALK TO AND JOKE AROUND WITH. WILL DEFINITELY EAT THERE AGAIN WHEN IN TOWN. SO MUCH DELICIOUS ITEMS FOR BREAKFAST. ESPECIALLY THE BLUEBERRY MUFFINS. THANK YOU LISA. RON AND RON...

It has been decades since I have eaten at Shoney's. Tonight, coming from a long trip, took a chance and was absolutely thrilled. Breakfast buffet or place an order from the menu. It was not crowded. Service was excellent. I haven't eaten like that in ages. I could barely walk out of the restaurant. Just like a tick. Our waitress was as sweet and considerate as she could be. She made us laugh and feel at home. And the price was not too bad. So, Shoney's, thank you....
