Some of the best beers are served up at this brewery. It was at a convenient location for us to stop at mid-day. We appreciated the early opening time. We walked in and found a taproom/restaurant that was very clean and well maintained. The decor was modern and inviting. Danny greeted us at the door and he couldn't have been nicer. He was our bartender too and was very accommodating to our tastes. There was a really great selection of different styles of beer and we picked what we wanted for a flight and took up Danny's suggestions for the next one. All the beers were very good or better. The most amazing ones were the Beach Peach Wheat Ale and Green Strings Märzen. We also met the owner who delighted us with the story of the brewery itself and informative facts about craft beer in SC. Between the bartender, Danny, and the owner, the folks at Southern Hops were warm and friendly and made us feel welcome. We came to try the beer and didn't try the food. Maybe next time we will come for a meal too. We would like to visit again soon and try more of the great tasting brews.
Parking: Dirt/Gravel parking lot has plenty of room. Right off US-76 and not far from I-95.

Got seated right away because the place was mostly empty on a Saturday night. Waited 15 min before flagging down a waitress. Finally got someone to take our drinks, but after another 10 min with no drinks.... left.
There were 3 people standing at the counter where you walk in doing nothing.

Very good and relaxed place to stop by for drink and food. There is live music time to time. This time we sat indoors due the rain, but sitting in the backyard works well if you like quieter atmosphere. Pizzas are very good! SHBC BBQ in the picture and it's 5/5!

Did not appear to be crowded, but it was slow to get a server. Once our orders were taken, food arrived fast, fresh, and good.

Food was great. Service was good except when myself and my girlfriend first walked up and was told we could sit outside and wasn't offered a seat inside due to my dog with is a service dog.....the owner said to the hostess to seat us outside.

Jack was phenomenal and was super accommodating for a group of folks who stopped in from a 13 hour drive from the Florida Keys! Food was awesome, Carolina BBQ, wings, Philly steak, pretzel chicken sandwich and the pub pretzel was very good!! Totally recommend!

We went yesterday and they have no idea how to handle serving food. We waited more than 90 minutes for our food to be served. Food was good, not great and definitely not worth 90 minute wait. Second time we have had this happen. It was not that busy. Waitress did best she could but kitchen needs to be completely rethought. Might stop again for a beer, but not food.
Stopped here on the way home from Florida with our puppy. What a perfect place to stop! We could not eat inside of course, but they had a great outdoor covered seating area or we could have chosen to sit in the beer garden. Food was excellent. I had a pizza- delicious! We also tried the chicken wings- excellent! And the pub sandwich- fab! We will definitely stop here again on our travels. The servers were accommodating and even brought us a water dish for our pup. It was great!

This is a great place to enjoy delicious food and drinks in a casual setting.
Random stop as I drove by on the way back to Columbia. The beers were excellent. Food was excellent (Philly Cheesesteak). Service was excellent. Danny? The bartender provided outstanding service!
