The food was unique and good. What really made the trip worth it was the server. Abby was excellent. The ambience was old school seafood restaurant. The wine was mediocre. It was worth experiencing it one time we may or may not go back if in the area.

Nice friendly atmosphere and delicious food. Well worth the stop. Prices are good, food is fresh and staff were professional and friendly.

This is a dive, but delicious shrimp and enough french fries to supply 4 people. Only complaint was, the chairs were very uncomfortable.

My husband and I stopped here on the way down to Florida. Well worth the detour. The food is fresh, and fast, and really tasty. My husband had the shrimp platter and left nothing behind. I initially ordered the tile fish, but it was really tough. I gave this restaurant five stars because they looked at it, agreed with me and immediately replaced it with an incredibly delicious flounder platter. We will be back!

If you crave fresh low country flavors, this cafe is a delightful option. Our server, Cam, welcomed us warmly. He gave fabulous recommendations and provided exemplary service. He quickly delivered an ice cold beer for my husband and a remarkably perfect Bloody Mary to me, as we reviewed the menus. With Cam’s recommendation, I had the enormous Oysters Rockefeller Po boy sandwich. It was one of the most mouthwatering things I have ever experienced. My husband was pleasantly surprised by his non-traditional pork Bahn-mi sandwich, which was delivered on 3 potato slider rolls, not on the traditional French bread. He declared the tender pork belly perfect with melt in your mouth flavor. If you have a chance, don’t miss this local cafe.

We are on day two of a road trip. We usually do fast food (the only time we eat it) to save time. This trip we are stopping off the interstate (I95) to eat local. Today was Tubbs in Florence SC. What a treat! Well worth the effort and time and then some. Our server, Cam, made it fun and whetted our appetite while we decided. He recommended lime butter for the hush puppies , winner? Don had blackened shrimp, a large portion with hopping john and crispy Brussels sprouts. He ate almost a whole plate of fried green tomatoes by himself! I had blackened flounder and too many hush puppies to admit to haha. They have beer and cocktails also. What a delicious delight. For reference, we ate at an upscale restaurant in Charleston last night. It was a totally different experience, of course, but the lunch today was just as amazing. HIGHLY Recommend ❤️

Went snorkeling and asked for a recommendation from the captain. We were glad he told us to go to Tubbs. Great food and friendly staff!!

As foodies who’ve lived in NYC and now in New England (near Maine) we’ve enjoyed great seafood- that said, the grilled shrimp is the BEST I remember having! Brussel sprouts out of sight delish ! Never liked hush puppies until these- utterly yum. And the grits heavenly - first time I went was on road trip en route to Florida - now will stop EVERY time we’re in the area . Thank you, Tubbs!

What a delight to find. Great food. I had she crab soup and a wedge salad, and my husband had a shrimp po’boy. Super good. Would like to go back to try other things on their menu

As usual, we chose this place based on their TripAdvisor reviews. My husband had the pimento grilled cheese and loved it—said he’d order it again. His side order of something they called “Hoppin Johnny” was delectable: rice, tomatoes, onion, and flavor! I chose the seafood platter, which had scallops, shrimp, oysters, hush puppies and a slab of fish. (It’s been several days so I don’t remember the fish type.) YOU NEED TO TRY THE COLLARD GREENS; they were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Everything was well prepared. My only issue is that they required all the items on the plate to be prepared the same way. I would have liked to have had a combination of fried and broiled. They do not accommodate. We ordered a “Fish Bowl” mixed drink at the beginning of our evening, and (after asking several times) it finally came when we were 2/3 through with our meal. Very disappointing service from the bartender. We should’ve canceled it. We found ourselves trying to suck it down quickly before we got back in the car to drive to the hotel. Not a really good idea! Overall, the food was good, and we would return if we were to visit Florence again.

We always stop while traveling to or from Florida. Great place and we love that Comeback Sauce. Look forward to returning and getting more!

Super fresh raw oysters served “southern style” with saltines, lemons, cocktail sauce and hot sauce…AMAZING. I am going to come back soon for more…plan to pair it with their perfect iced tea and great service. I know why Tubb’s is ranked #1 in Florence!!

So Tubbs was about 5 miles off 95, the reviews were pretty positive, so we thought we would give it a try..We almost never go out of way for a restaurant on long road trips. It was a very pleasant experience. The staff was exceptional, the food was on point, and the atmosphere was cool. It's was a good move.

Our first visit. Often in the area but never had even seen it. Signal if weak, had to really look for it. We were they about 3:30. Greeted very quickly and very good service. Offered the outside area and we opted for inside. The grill shrimp was very good and so was the she crab soup. The grilled side dishes were top notch. Place is plain but I went for the food. I think it is a hidden gem in Florence, check them out!
