Found this place by accident. We were looking to grab a drink late one and eve r yone was closed or close to it. So, we checked out The Nickel. It is a BAR-BAR. Exactly what a bar should be; jukebox, plastic cups for drinks and EXCELLENT bar food. I ended up getting a second cheesesteak. Solid drinks, friendly staff. Best bar in Florence.

Greatphilly cheese stakes and their wings are a well kept secret! Just stumbled in looking for supper and wound up there for Karaoke night. Fun surprise date night and nice cold beers. We had a few drinks, 2 Philly cheesesteaks, and an order of wings all under 50 bucks!

Staff and patrons were friendly. We had a good time. The KJ is awesome, sticks to his rotation and uses Kara Fun’s remote ability while moving people to keep to the right order. New people are added in at the bottom. He does it right.
My only complaint is that this is a smoking bar and I have asthma. The first night, Friday, it wasn’t too bad, but Saturday night I couldn’t hang. It was just too bad for me.
If you can handle the smoke it’s a great place to be.

My girlfriend and I had been driving around town looking for somewhere we could unwind and shed the stale taste of our work week. After trying our luck at some well-known establishments like Buffalo Wild Wings, we decided to try our hand here as we were in desperate need of good drinks and real people. The Wooden Nickel did not disappoint! We found some of the most colorful, friendly, and inviting people in this rock'n country bar. I am a man of above average stature and usually receive questionable looks when I enter a room. However, upon stepping through the door, I was greeted with true hospitality. No one seemed to be a stranger under the roof of the Wooden Nickel. The incredible friendly hospitality spread beyond every corner. The atmosphere is everything you'd want in a bar or nightlife environment. We met some of the most amazing people one could wish to come in contact with, and the drinks were outstanding ?. We left the house on an adventure to find a bar and a few drinks. After stumbling upon the Wooden Nickel, we left unwound, happy, and with a few more friends.

As somebody from out of town, I had an amazing time. Everyone was very welcoming..... Food was good. My date had the lemon pepper wings and I had the Philly cheese sandstone, Both were good as well. We played darts and sang karaoke.

I ain't gonna lie y'all...this bar looks quite sketchy from the outside but me and a girl I was on a date with gave it a shot this past Friday night and...let's just say we ended up taking some shots! Lol..jk..the bartender Heidi made us some superb "liquid marijuana" drinks that I never heard of but the gal I was with suggested them and were very good and the philly cheese steak fries were the bomb! Lesson here is don't judge a..book..I mean..bar..by it's cover. Very clean, great hard working normal folks, patrons whatever you say. Great people, great staff, great food, no fights lol, and awesome karaoke with none other than "Smoke"..the well seasoned, very cool and polite karaoke host of this era. This bar is a hidden gem with some fantastic singers and we had an absolute blast and I (singular, ha) look forward to visiting again real soon. ?
