Out of half the items on their menu
Literal worst burger I have ever had in my life. It was like they froze mystery meat and hardly even cooked it. I’ve never left a bad review in all my years but this burger single handedly gives this place a 1 star. Even worse is that we met a manager at a bar the next night and he tried to defend the burger when we gave our honest criticism of it. Probably wouldn’t have left the review if he would’ve listened to us about not serving people rotten food. Servers were very nice, however they probably shouldn’t have let us order the burger.

We ate here on a Saturday night at around 8pm. We thought it was fine because Google says they close at 10pm. However, no one was there and although they let us finish our food we were kind of rushed out so that they could close early. This is understandable, but hear our take on the food:
I ordered the blackened chicken pasta and it was very mid. The best part about it was that it was hot. That could have been my mistake for ordering chicken pasta at a seafood restaurant. Anyways, I wasn’t very hungry so as I was putting some leftovers in a TOGO box, I look over at my girlfriend’s plate to see if I should put her food in my box too. All I see is a tortilla with fried shrimp and lettuce on it which looked odd to me. She asked if I wanted to keep it but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Those shrimp tacos looked pretty bad, and apparently were. She said the description said that it was topped with a mango habanero salsa. When it arrived, it was a couple of small fried shrimp pieces heavily coated in a spicey sugary sauce. She could barely finish one taco it was so bad, but she felt like she had to because it was $17!!
I would like to give Catch 23 the benefit of the doubt that we came in at a bad time, but either way, I don’t think I could come back here.

I have never had a crab boil so awful. It was as if all items were cooked separately. No flavor. Fries were over seasoned.

In Folly for a couple of weeks from Wisconsin and found my new favorite hangout! Excellent food and service with a smile. Manager Hayden runs a great spot and Madison may be my new favorite barkeep (and I am old and from Wisconsin and have subsequently been in a lot of bars! ;) Thanks gang for the hospitality. I will surely be back when heading through again.

I had a case of mismanaged expectations with this spot.
The rooftop view drew us in and it was a beautiful spot. The floor wasn't overly crowded or busy.
Our waitress took our drink order without writing anything down (party of 5). Our party ordered 3 cocktails and she brought an incorrect drink on one. Not a big deal, it still had the preferred alcohol so the accidental substitute was okay.
A friend and I asked to split the Folly Boil. The standard low country boil is $30. The Folly Boil (standard + crab) is $52. We did not ask if it was enough to split, which is on me.
When a food runner brought out food, we did not receive silverware for the table. The waitress did not come to check on us. It took several minutes before we could get her attention. Not ideal
The Folly Boil portion was disappointing for the price point. An ear of corn broken in half. 2 medium sized potatoes, quartered. 1/2lb shrimp (10 pieces) and a sausage link cut into 7 pieces. The seasoning was okay, not great.
And the $22 crab was a cluster of 4 legs (half of one snow crab).
$40ish and maybe I would have been satisfied. But $52 for that? Underwhelming.
I actually assumed the portions were split in two when I boil came out. I was assured it was the entire portion.
My friends who ordered other food items said they were good. Nothing special but good.
It was an adequate experience. I wouldn't go back unless it was just for drinks and the view.

Visited here for dinner and had the salmon and a pina colada. The service was very attentive and friendly and the food was very good. The drink was not particularly strong but it was tasty and came in a souvenir cup. Definitely gives sports bar vibes indoors and the TV volume was overly loud for my preference, but an overall pleasant dining experience as a first timer to the restaurant and area.

After a visit to Folly Beach we went into town and searched for high rated restaurant, selecting Catch 23 as it had a rooftop bar and seating area that overlooked towards the ocean. It was self seating and we were able to grab a table closest the water side. Although the ocean view was obstructed by a hotel and other structures you were able to see the pier and a portion of the beach.
Started with a strawberry limeade drink, which was great, and a Chicken Nacho appetizer which was okay. It was a good size but did not have enough chicken and the chicken was a nit dry. Ended the meal with a peanut butter explosion cake which we shared and both thought was okay but a dry chocolate cake, not any explosion!
The waitress, Alyssa, was very pleasant, attentive and accommodating as we switched tables right after ordering drinks as one opened up closer to the water.
Did anyone notice the dog with the glasses?

We stopped in Catch 23 on a weeknight during low season in October and ate way up on the 3rd story rooftop. Among us, we had the Grilled Mahi plate, the burger, the Spicy California roll and the Blackened Mahi Sandwich. The food was decent to good. The Mahi that was plated had a slight fishy aroma and flavor to it that was off putting. It was also dry. The rice was overcooked and the entire dish just lacked flavor. The Mahi Sandwich was great and the Spicy California roll was well liked. The burgers were just ok. Our server, from Alabama, was lovely and very attentive. We were seated immediately and the food was out quickly. The ambiance was great as we were rooftop a few blocks from the ocean. I am not sure if we would go back with so many choices in the greater Charleston area.

The cole slaw was good, the fish was terrible and the broccoli was ok. Don’t waste your time or money. It was too loud to talk to the person beside you. It was not a good experience.
