Place is filthy. Menus stuck to the table like duct tape. Glasses stuck to the table where they made noises from the sticky goo over the entire table. Employee wiping off a different table with her bare hands then picking up drinking glasses for the next customer. When I say bare hands I mean bare hands. No rag or anything. She was wiping the table with her bare hands and knocking the crumbs to the floor and then tending to peoples eating utensils. The food was nothing more than edible. The bar may not have a cut off point because one of the customers fell down their outside stairs and his buddies had to keep lifting him off the ground over and over and drag him down the street because he was so drunk. Our waitress was polite but you could see the entire staff did not want to be there and none had a bit of customer concern. People look forward to their beach trip all year and this is the experience we are left with. I see someone else had a same experience last month and promises of staff training and whatnot was made. Apparently the management puts lipstick on comments and makes no changes. Stay away from this place if you want a good beach trip.

Always enjoy visiting Taco Boy. Ordered fish tacos and they were excellent.
Very tasty food, but (esp for Mexican fare), not everything is GF. The tacos are soft corn tortillas, which is fine. I had the Kimchi beef & grilled shrimp taco platter. Also ordered the fresh avocado & chips. The grilled shrimp taco was just ok, but all else was GREAT. Lots of these (Folly Beach) restaurants have flour-based wraps and breaded meats.. you can find GF choices, but it's limited.

We are visiting from Wisconsin on our honeymoon and Taco Boy at Folly Beach was such a fun surprise and total vibe. Our Uber driver told us to check it out, and we are so glad we did. The atmosphere was bright, colorful, and full of energy, the kind of place that instantly makes you feel like you are on vacation. The margaritas were amazing and only five dollars, which was such a great deal. The service was fantastic and our server went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We ordered the trio sampler and it was so good!!! The salsa, guacamole, and queso were all incredible, and the chips were GREAT too. Everything was flavorful and clearly made with care. The food came out quickly, and the vibe of the place just made it even better. It is such a unique and photogenic spot right in the heart of the Folly Beach area, and we loved every minute of it. Keep crushing it, Taco Boy, because this place is seriously something special.

We stopped by Taco Boy in Folly Beach and had such a fun experience! The atmosphere is bright, funky, and full of energy. the huge octopus on the ceiling and colorful decor make it such a cool place to eat. The tacos were packed with flavor, and the chips and trio of salsas were awesome. It’s family-friendly too . our kids loved hanging out in the big “Amigos” chair out front. Definitely a must-visit spot for tacos and good vibes when you’re in Folly Beach!

I'm hoping it was just a bad day because my passion are tacos, and at ate there before they turned their smaller location into a pirate bar.. by far the worst tacos I've ever had in a restaurant anywhere! And that's saying a lot coming from a restaurant that names itself after tacos 🤔
I got take out, but it was really good. We got birria tacos with rice and beans and carnitas tacos. The packaging was also really good. It came with taco holders that kept everything in place well. I'm not sure if this is recommended, but I parked in the lot across the street and ran over quickly.
Highly recommended.

Last year we arrived at Taco Boy and Teddy was our bartender. He was a lost soul. He couldn’t make green tea shots. We chanted his name as he left and we never saw him again. We arrived this year and our bartender was Grace K. She was amazing with her drinks and her hospitality. We will be back.

Amazing food and fun atmosphere. The trans flags and somewhat demonic looking wall decor weren’t great. Go figure.

Just average - pedestrian food, service and atmosphere. Plenty of better places to eat in folly beach.

Gets worse every year. Not sure what's going on but the bar is filthy, disgusting, sticky, the service is slow, and the food is mediocre, served as unattractive and messy, not to mention inaccurate. Employees seem miserable, so I'm guessing it's a management problem. Makes sense: The one they opened here in Asheville is like, not just bad, but funny bad.
This used to be a stellar standby. What a shame.
