They changed the name to The Tavern on the Lake about 5 years ago.We were there soon after they opened and it was slow getting service. The food was okay, but nothing great.

Don't read everything you believe - some reviews are just jaded. However, this review proves, sometimes places need to be tried and then YOU make up your mind. This is now called Tavern on the Lake and it was nice. Service was attentive but not annoyingly pesty. Pretzel with beer cheese was good. However, the dip should have more beer flavor (hardly noticed it) and the ramakin size should be bigger. Pretzel is huge. Menu is diverse enough for a casual, easy dining experience. As long as you understand this is on a golf course in a retirement community, then you won't expect 4-5 star dining. Tables have white cloth coverings and the view out large windows is nice. This place is fine for a drink, sandwiches, salad....easy casual eating. I found it enjoyable on every level.

I live just down the street; I didn't feel much like cooking so I thought I would drop in for a relaxing solo meal. I found this place not only disappointing, but lacking on so many levels The food was inedible, half of what was on the drinks menu wasn't available, tables weren't bussed and dirty plates and glasses were everywhere, the place was empty but it took forever for a server to arrive. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. There isn't one positive thing I can list.
