Ordered food from the food truck then went inside to get a drink. The bartender never once even acknowledged we were in there. Guess she knew we were not regulars and had no time for us. Was told by the KOA to come over. Won’t do that again.

My husband and I started coming to John’s when we first moved here to Charlotte in March. It’s a nice place with friendly staff and clientele, so we were thinking it was going to become our go to place! The problems are that it’s so busy that it’s a struggle to get a seat inside and that the KJ is very rude. I have some hearing loss, so I would periodically check the list to see when I was coming up. The KJ would give me the stink eye every time I did this even after I explained it to him. I know the list fills up quickly too, so I would put in for my second song about 40 to 60 minutes after I put in for my first. One night the KJ got mad at me for putting in for my second song before I sang my first. I did not know about this policy and apologized, but he still took me completely off the list and announced this policy to the bar. It was very disappointing and humiliating and we have not been back.

Such a fun place on the weekends! Karaoke on Friday nights and usually live music on Saturday nights. Bartenders are dolls and hustle. You do not wait for your drinks cause they are not on their phones! There is a food truck there that has really good food with good variety. Awesome "dive bar" for sure!! Go see Hannah on Wednesday nights and shoot some pool while you're there. 😊

Why have a taco truck outside that refuses to serve customers during operating hours? I stood in line last week for 15 minutes with no one in front of me or behind and they refused to take my order. I am a paying customer and simply wanted food. From now on, I’ll bring my own or save myself the money and TIME before I attempt to order your food again. Stop having rude people work. There were about five people in that small truck and the only thing they could do is shuffle around and act lost. I am a short woman (5 foot to be exact) and I am come here often. I will be SURE to make sure people don’t buy the food and save it for the drinks in the bar. I felt discriminated in a way and I have nothing nice to say about your food truck with the workers and their inability to unfreeze a hotdog in less than hour. Thanks for disappointing John’s!

John's is a pretty solid gas station with good prices all the time. It’s also connected to a pizza place and restaurant, which brings in a decent crowd. I haven’t tried the food yet, but it looks like a popular spot. If you're in the area and need gas or a quick bite, it seems like a convenient stop.
