Visited establishment following a brief trip to the flea market around the corner. I was looking for a place that had fried green tomatoes on its menu, which my best friend who I went with really likes. The restaurant was not crowded that Saturday late afternoon and we were seated quickly in the back of the bar area.
I am so glad we came. The food was real cooked food that was seasoned very well, not microwaved crap. The menu wasn’t extensive, but what was there was interesting and not your typically expected dishes. We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. The entrees were shrimp and grits, fried green tomato BLT with sweet potato fries and chicken tenders with fries for my grandson. Everything was delicious. My friend commented there should have been more bacon on the BLT.
The chicken tenders were homemade and tasted really good. My shrimp and grits was the most heartiest I’ve ever had, full of flavor - tomatoes, greens, Andouille sausage, just delish. It tasted even better when I ate the leftovers later that evening.
I would love to come back, this place is a hidden gem of the area in my book. I will say it was pricey, our order totaled $90+. Grateful my friend treated. Our waitress was also very friendly. The ambiance was pleasant, but it is a little tight inside. I imagine it would be hard to get around when the place is packed.
I was surprised to learn the restaurant was part of a chain. Whatever you’re doing, please don’t change it!

I can't believe I haven't written about this place sooner. The flipside cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in the Charlotte area. They are a farm to table style, and everything is absolutely delicious. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. From breakfast to dinner, be sure to try everything. One of my favorites is the turkey club sandwich with Bread Smith fresh bread, paired with their to die for Brussels! Writing this review has made me hungry, I think I'll visit again for lunch today ?
The staff is so nice and welcoming, at this point we should be at first name basis with them. It's lovely to see the same faces whenever we come.

The staff were disorganized from the time we walked in the door. Although there were tables available we were told we would have to wait for 15-minutes. The people who arrived after us were immediately seated at one of the vacant tables.
Our server did not come back to our table after bringing our drinks so another server finally took our order. When we were ready to leave our server became distracted behind the bar instead of bringing our change back to the table.
The food was excellent. The menu has many original features which made the meal enjoyable.

First time going with my husband, service and food was great. Second time, went solo for a quick birthday brunch. Service was still good , waitress was sweet.. but the pancake was undercooked completely through the middle inedible just batter mix. Waitress was nice said will bring up to the kitchen and they would take care of it but it still appeared on the bill. I still paid because it’s my birthday and just looking to have a peaceful day but a little disappointed.

Top notch customer service. I ordered something I ended up not liking. The waitress kindly offered to swap it for something else. I declined, not wanting to inconvenience her or the staff. A manager noticed and (lovingly) made me order something I liked. Very welcoming environment and I loved my chorizo hash bowl I ended up with.
