We stopped for lunch and the food was really tasty. They use a lot of locally sourced ingredients. Two of us got the chicken, apple, cheddar salad and the presentation was beautiful. Spinach, green apples, honey granola, flavorful chicken and aged cheddar.

Flipside Cafe is small, quaint, and off the beaten path. The staff is friendly and the sandwiches are filling. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich that she couldn’t finish. It was good, though messy with the pico de gallo. I had the Ft Mill Cuban which is their take on the classic Cuban sandwich. Having had the real thing for years, I was a little disappointed with their interpretation. It was good, but I was expecting it to be grilled and pressed. It wasn’t. Overall we had a very nice lunch and we’ll certainly stop back and try other dishes.

OMG – The “Food Scene” in Charlotte has “Cardiac Arrested” – Turns out, I think I may have found it – “The Food Scene” – Alive & Well – Across the Border in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Wake Up – Fellow Yelpers and Foodies – Oh L-rd! – I think I may have found the best Breakfast/Brunch Spot in the Carolinas. Sunday – 5 October 2025; - Searching & Desperate for a “Proper Meal” – which simply does not exist in Charlotte – I stumbled upon the The Flipside Café. The Flipside Café is located in an undiscerning shopping center in Fort Mill, North Carolina. Minutes from the North Carolina border. Good L-rd! – Service is a stand out; - Everyone is welcome with “Warm Southern Hospitality” – My waitress “Ashley F.” was amazing and treated me like a family member; - I loved the “Southern Affection, Charm & Warmth” – I had to have the Chicken & Waffles; Thank you for respecting my religious beliefs and not making it a big deal that I don’t eat Pork. Greatly appreciate. A picture speaks a thousand words; - Chicken and Waffles was amazing. Thank you for serving copious amounts of Fresh Butter in Small Metal Cups – Bonus! Scrambled Eggs arrived “Soft & Fluffy” & the English Muffin was Homemade and “Sourced” from some local Fort Mill Establishment. Coffee was kept flowing! Seating was extremely comfortable with a very chill and calm vibe. I could hear myself think! Definitely an A+ and I plan to return with some friends. I understand they have an amazing Lunch & Dinner Menu – which I plan to eventually check out. The Hamburger looks and sounds terrific. Parking was a Breeze – What a delight! – Thank you for a wonderful brunch and wonderful service!

I have no idea why this restaurant is so popular; there were actually people waiting outside to get in before they opened for a recent Saturday brunch. We dined here only because they offered a lobster omelet and a Monte Cristo sandwich. While waiting for our meal, I went to use the bathroom and upon my return, smelled something burning in the kitchen. I told my son that it was probably my sandwich and sure enough, when it arrived the entirely black side was hidden on the bottom. I asked to have the sandwich replaced and at the time, didn't even realize that it wasn't made correctly. When it was returned, the entire sandwich instead of being dipped in batter and fried, appeared to only use two slices of french toast and then just grilled like a ham and cheese sandwich with just a small dash of powdered sugar on top--definitely not a Monte Cristo! Additionally, the jam wasn't even added to the sandwich and I was given a container of jam to use instead. Very little meat and I only ate it because I was in need of some protein. My son was disappointed in his omelet as well due to the insufficient amount of lobster it contained and that the chunks were large and not smaller and dispersed better within the dish. Additionally, I was charged $5 for a glass of milk--probably just about 12 ounces. We definitely will not return.

We ate here Saturday evening and the following day for Sunday brunch. Both times we were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the variety of the menu, and the quality of the food. We’ll be back!

The Monte Cristo is fantastic! Nice cute cafe good for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner! Good menu. Can be a little tight inside if it’s crowded. There is also a bigger location in downtown Rock Hill.

Visited establishment following a brief trip to the flea market around the corner. I was looking for a place that had fried green tomatoes on its menu, which my best friend who I went with really likes. The restaurant was not crowded that Saturday late afternoon and we were seated quickly in the back of the bar area.

I am so glad we came. The food was real cooked food that was seasoned very well, not microwaved crap. The menu wasn’t extensive, but what was there was interesting and not your typically expected dishes. We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. The entrees were shrimp and grits, fried green tomato BLT with sweet potato fries and chicken tenders with fries for my grandson. Everything was delicious. My friend commented there should have been more bacon on the BLT.

The chicken tenders were homemade and tasted really good. My shrimp and grits was the most heartiest I’ve ever had, full of flavor - tomatoes, greens, Andouille sausage, just delish. It tasted even better when I ate the leftovers later that evening.

I would love to come back, this place is a hidden gem of the area in my book. I will say it was pricey, our order totaled $90+. Grateful my friend treated. Our waitress was also very friendly. The ambiance was pleasant, but it is a little tight inside. I imagine it would be hard to get around when the place is packed.

I was surprised to learn the restaurant was part of a chain. Whatever you’re doing, please don’t change it!

I can't believe I haven't written about this place sooner. The flipside cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in the Charlotte area. They are a farm to table style, and everything is absolutely delicious. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. From breakfast to dinner, be sure to try everything. One of my favorites is the turkey club sandwich with Bread Smith fresh bread, paired with their to die for Brussels! Writing this review has made me hungry, I think I'll visit again for lunch today ?

The staff is so nice and welcoming, at this point we should be at first name basis with them. It's lovely to see the same faces whenever we come.
