For starters, it took nearly an hour to be seated. Thats not a big deal as long as the food is quality food.
Once seated , was waited on by a phenomenally gorgeous and friendly waitress . Salad came rather quickly but it was an additional 45 mins AFTER eating the salad to get the food and the “well done” steak arrived medium rare. Not one time did the waitress offer to “update” us on when our food would arrive, you just sit and wait and wait and wait.
2 people eating was $60 and for the amount of time it took to get in and get the food and the kitchen couldn’t get the food right it is not a good value therefore I don’t recommend.
I see previous reviews complain of long waits and had I read them prior to going, would not have went. If you need to kill 3 hours eating this is your place.

Carolina Cafe is the bomb! Just learned about it and glad I did. Although I was tempted by the dessert offerings, I had no room left after the Flounder Combo. The server was welcoming, friendly and patient; the flounder and shrimp, accompanied by baked potato and slaw, were tasty; and the decor tasteful. When I arrived shortly after 5:00 pm, there were perhaps eight or so cars in the lot, but by the time I left, at least 30! Popular place. I hope to be back...soon.
Update: I returned with a colleague the next evening and was again impressed with the service and the food. The salad that came with my meal was reminiscent of a nice Chef Salad with abundant boiled egg, bacon bits, and shredded cheddar - spectacular! My entree, Carolina Medallions, was superb - the steak and the shrimp. Truly a remarkable and memorable meal.

First we had to wait over a hour NO utilities for take out orders,the food was ice cold they forgot two items had to go back forthem the bowl of soup was a small container the size of there slaw container SOMEONE needs to up date there web page for there current prices I thought there was a law against severing COLD food. Everything we order should been around 80 dollars instead try 125 think God we didn't order dessert or drinks

Edit: we've tried this restaurant since leaving the original review. This place is always packed, so there's never a great time to sit and wait awhile for a table. We've done takeout a few times and what's extremely concerning is their practice of writing down credit card numbers when you place a phone order and keeping the details face up at the register!! The most recent time i picked up food, several credit card numbers could be seen from the hostess booth. When I asked for my written down credit card number so I could safely discard it, it seemed inconvenient and confusing to them. They need to either have online ordering or allow people to pay at pickup.
Original review: The menu selection was great and the prices were decent. One thing to know is that they LOVE bacon here.... everything we ordered came with bacon whether we wanted it or not. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The kitchen undercooks steaks, so plan ahead if you're particular. We would come again.
I was sitting in the cell phone lot at Charlotte and figured my wife would be hungry after her flight, soni started looking for a restaurant. As I searched along I-85 toward home, I saw Carolina Cafe on the map. The menu looked good and the reviews were nearly 5* so I punched up navigation and off we went.
I'm so glad I spotted Carolina Cafe because this restaurant is a bright spot in the upstate. The short drive north of 85 is well worth it. We'll be back again.
