This is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant. Great food, yes, but mostly the memories and the atmosphere.

I went to El Michoacán on a hot summer day after walking around what’s left of the Gaffney outlets. We were tired and hungry, so this place looked like a good spot to cool off and grab some food.

One of the best things right away was the free salsa bar. It had a bunch of different sauces and dips. If you go, please try the chipotle sauce and their pepper salsa. Both were so good with the nachos, I honestly could’ve just eaten that.

We didn’t waste much time and ordered right away. I got the chipotle chicken. To be honest, it wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be covered in chipotle sauce, but it came out pretty dry with just a lot chicken strips, a bunch of lettuce, and some rice. I ended up mixing in a bunch of sauces from the salsa bar, which made it better and more enjoyable.

My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian dish, but there was a bit of confusion. What she got wasn’t exactly what she asked for, probably just a miscommunication with the server. We didn’t say anything since we were hungry and just wanted to eat.

Overall, the place was nice inside and had a comfortable vibe. The food was alright once we made it work for us. For the price, it’s a pretty good deal. I’d still recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a chill and affordable Mexican spot.

The chips were horrible.

Music was fun and festive! They have a big menu to choose from and the food was amazing. Be careful if it says spicy, but it is delicious. Have you ever not had fun in a festive Mexican establishment?

Food was good. I've had better. Service was ok. The server didn't speak English so communication was a slight problem. The music was too loud so I asked someone if she could turn it down a bit. She turned it completely off. However the food was plentiful and the server was very nice. He was doing his best. It was worth the money.

For sure this place was a diner at some point. It has the 50@s era vibe but actually served authentic Mexican American food.

Decently priced with large portions and a salsa bar. If you find yourself headed to one of the corp crappy mexican joints , skip it and give this place a try.

Decent.
