We have just moved to Gaffney and have driven by Smak and knew it wasn’t the BBQ place that is painted on the roof, but hadn’t gone in. Today we went in, sat down and had excellent food! Our group of 6 was impressed with everything that came to our table from the lamb pot roast to the Tajik Pilaf, kebabs, dumplings and cabbage rolls we were all impressed! Thank you Smak for providing delicious food, friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere! We will definitely be make this a regular stop!

Amazing Borsch and Compote, like my grandma made when I was a child! ? Stuffed Pepper was loaded more with beef than rice. Prune Cake was super-fresh and not too sweet, which is perfect if you prefer European baked goods over American ones. ?
You need to eat here, it is AWESOME. I stopped in thinking it was a hole in the wall BBQ place that could be good.
It's eastern European food, I got the tajik pilafb meaning chicken kabab, pilaf, and salad (beet) combo. Order extra pickled onions if you do, you won't regret it .
On top of the flavor, the food LOOKS good too.

my girlfriend and I stopped in for dinner and it was a great experience all around , I got the mamas dumplings, crepes and she got the baklava , and the cabbage perogies and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious!!! Homemade fresh dumplings!?? A little bit of a language barrier but not bad! Overall it's a hit for us , we will definitely be back!

First visit here for us. We went with a big group. Thought it might take a good while. But to all our surprise that was not the case. Some of our friends with us had been there before. Told us they make the food from scratch when you order.
The food was unique. Not typical American food. Maybe a German or Russian type. Our friends recommended things they'd tried and liked. We enjoyed what we ordered and plan to go again!!

Gaffney has needed a restaurant like this for a VERY long time! The food is Delicious and fresh! It's very clean and pretty inside. The employees are very nice and answer any questions. Great for all ages... our 11 and 13 year Old daughters even loved it!
I can't say enough about how much my family enjoyed Smak Deli. It was absolutely amazing. 3 of us shared Tajik rice and chicken kebabs with cabbage salad, cabbage rolls, 2 samsas, and grandma's beef dumplings. My 9 year old granddaughter even said 5 stars for everything!!! I got a piece of Napoleon to take home for dessert and hubby got a round loaf of bread to have tomorrow. So good
What a great surprise to find this gem right off of I-85. The food was honestly fantastic. We left completely stuffed and eager to come back again. Highly recommended!
