I always eat here when I am in Georgetown. One of my favorites anywhere.February 20, 2023--The Big Tuna closed permanently a couple of weeks ago. I will really miss this place.
Right on the water in Georgetown. Nautical atmosphere. Nice outdoor area to take in the sites while enjoying your meal. She-crab soup was delicious. The gumbo was very good as well. My wife's fried oysters were excellent, but her fries were ice cold. Prices were okay.

Big tuna…. We received acknowledgment after the second worker saw us stand. After we were acknowledge the energy was pleasant. We were sitting outside which was nice but I feel that the they can afford to make some improvements to make the outdoor experience match the cost of the meals. The meal is where they lost my entire interest of never returning. The waitress was great but the food quality was garbage . It was frozen food from the appetizer to the entrée, anything was not fresh. Being that we are in Georgetown sitting on the waterway with a view of the Atlantic Ocean bay that the seafood would not be frozen, but unfortunately it was frozen.I would say this I am probably the wrong or right person to give a comment, because cooking for events and others is what my husband and I take pride in doing. I am a true foodie person so I have higher expectations for restaurants whose menu prices is average to the above average price for the area.I don’t see myself recommending this restaurant to anyone I know with an average or above average pallet.

Everyone was super nice. However my husband and I got fried shrimp and fries. Proportions are really small for the price. Also shrimp was not great. We wanted fried but sure didn't look it. No breading to it at all. Just not worth the money.

Work being done next door so very noisy. Shrimp in shrimp salad not fresh and undercooked. Worst meal I’ve had there. Took the best things off the menu. Tuna tartare and po boys.

DONT COME HUNGRY! I’m new to the neighborhood and came for a Sunday lunch. Small menu and SMALL PORTIONS! I ordered the daily fish entree, it came with black beans and rice (served in a dixi cup) Coleslaw (dixi cup) and tartar sauce. All for $22 which was all but maybe a $7 meal. It was tasty BUT IT WAS SKIMPY!!! Do not come hungry friends. They also shove people in this back shed to seat rather than sit upfront near the door. It was obvious. It was dead inside and rainy and my husband and I walked in and the ENTIRE restaurant was empty and they sent us immediately to this shed. I asked to be moved inside and they did. It seems the front is reserved only for their “faves” or locals..who knows. I saw 5-6 families as I sat here all be shoved into this shed as it was pouring rain outside and the servers made them go out in the rain to enter this shed. Unbelievable!! I will never return again. Go to SOCO GRILL just down the street and get an amazing fish entree for $12 with happy and courteous servers.
