El Cerro Grande of Georgetown

Nice Mexican style restaurant with fast friendly service and your entrees are usually out before you get too engaged with the chips & salsa!🙂

My favorite is the Burrito Supreme without sour cream; which is one beef and one chicken burrito covered with cheese, lettuce, tomato and a side of rice. My comfort food!!!

Tried the Barbecue Sandwich for a change…it was good but still LOVE old faithful!

I have been eating at El Cerro since I was a child. You could go there anytime of day and it was packed, the food was good, the service was great. If you asked me if I recommended it prior to yesterday I would have said yes absolutely. However, yesterday my fiancé and I went there to eat. We haven’t been there in a long time but something has changed. There were only two other people in the restaurant eating. When we got our cheese dip it was really liquidy but I wasn’t going to complain. I dipped a chip into the salsa and a black hair was in the salsa hanging out off of my chip. We ended up leaving. The staff was friendly. They didn’t charge us for our drinks or dip and the waitress apologized but the vibe was just off. It wasn’t a welcoming atmosphere and the hair did it for me. I understand things happen in the food industry but it was disgusting.

The food was fantastic,portions were very large but the staff were very rude. One waitress with a tattoo on the back of her neck was really rude and just stared at us and had a irrogant attitude.

This was a second time visit. Both times were excellent. The food and the service were exemplary. Our waitress Julia was fantastic! Everyone was friendly. Even the bartender Karen stopped by to ask if we enjoyed the drinks... Excellent Margaritas from an excellent bartender! Enjoyed Quesadillas and Fajitas. Great evening.

We go by this place all the time on our way to Murrells Inlet. So we decided to stop in and have lunch. The place was clean and the atmosphere seem friendly. But when my wife’s dish got to her, she noticed it had a really long hair wrapped around her food,when we notified the waiter, he said no one in the kitchen has long hair. Not putting the blame nowhere, but it was disgusting, the waiter took to play and return with a fresh new one. All in all are good experience, but they should never insinuate that the customer was in the wrong in any fashion.
