An unfortunate first attempt to sample a local legend. 3 meals, 1 served for mama, papa, and baby bear. One was very hot and delicious ( shredded pork sandwich), one tepid (clam chowder and sandwich ) one ice cold( oyster po boy). Replacement po boy was hot and delicious. Very well attended and atmosphere is spot on.

Yesterday my Church group from PICC had a luncheon at the River Room . 35 of us arrived to share wonderful food and fellowship. They were ready for us, assigned us two lovely servers, Katelyn and Haley, and we quickly had beverages and food orders taken. These friendly and efficient ladies made the experience so nice and comfortable for all of us. I don’t know how your kitchen got our meals out so quickly and not one mistake! Thank you again River Room!

3 of us went to River room today. We were sat at 1:06, server took out order at 1:10. Our food came to the table at 2:10. All of food was cold. Not even luke warm. My husband ate nothing. I ate mine and our friend only at 20% of hers We then ordered the wonderful key lime pie and it was burnt. What happened. The food a few months ago was wonderful. We will not go back.

What a beautiful place. Food was ok. It took over 40 minutes to get our food, (we had kids with us). Our appetizer didn't come out till our food, my brussel sprouts were so hard I couldn't bite them. Not a good experience for our first time 😢

This is the best restaurant I’ve been to since coming to the area for seven years. Seven of us walked in at 6:10 and were seated. Wonderful atmosphere! My Tito’s and tonic, tasty! We ordered two appetizers and it was plenty for all of us. The side salad came with the special (they loved the mahi mahi) and my seafood platter was enough to give others an taste, even though I was stuffed! And the best part: reasonably priced. If you get Paula as your wait staff, you’re lucky!

On July 8, 2025, my daughter and I had lunch at River Room. The fish, fries was fried hard, too dry to eat. Only the the shrimp, oysters were edible. NO Good Customer Service. We were never asked if we needed additional tea. Upon leaving the Hostess never acknowledge our presence of leaving. Of course we were the only African American in the restaurant. This was not my 1st visit to River Room. My experience in the past years was much better.
