We tried a little bit of everything at River Room: the Upscale Blue Plate, the Pecan Chicken, two Kids’ Fish meals, and the Chicken Alfredo with meat. Overall, a solid spread. The flounder special definitely stole the spotlight — tender, flavorful, and gone way too fast. The Chicken Alfredo also got a big thumbs‑up at the table. A nice meal with a few standout bites that made it worth the stop.

Great view of the river, excellent service, delicious food. Came here for lunch and truly enjoyed our whole experience. Nancy, our server, was fast and friendly. Place was not too noisy. Clean bathrooms. Ample parking on the street. I loved my cheeseburger (cooked to order!) and my mom enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich. Home fries and sweet potato fries were great, but onion rings the best!

We love the atmosphere here, try and grab lunch each time we are in town. There is a rustic nautical feel to the establishment. I had the seafood plater and she had a chicken quesadiea. My seafood plater was a 6.5 out of 10 and hers was 7. Nice selection of flounder, shrimp, oysters and scallops but there was not seasoning, very bland and the hushpuppies were burned and very dry. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Was a little over priced IMO. The fact of the burnt puppies and no flavor. Because I like the place, I will give it a 7 overall and yes would recommend it to others.

I would normally give the restaurant 5 stars for Atmosphere, but no more. After a couple of years, my wife and I took a trip to Georgetown from Myrtle Beach just to eat at the River Room and stroll along Front Street. To my huge disappointment, they did away with the beautiful saltwater aquarium. This feature made the restaurant unique and totally worth the 1 hour drive from Myrtle. Now, there is not much reason to go there. The food is just average, but that aquarium was special. If you never saw it, you really missed something because it was unique. What a shame.

Great food, good portions, excellent view if you can get by the water.
Grouper bites are the best I've had.

Giving this restaurant 1 star because online the restaurant was supposed to be open till 8 pm. We arrived at 6:30 pm to find it closed on a Wednesday night...disappointing as this was our first trip to Georgetown.

Food was great, we dined in the small bar room (prior to the renovation) the bartender was attentive and gave great suggestions. The atmosphere was friendly and a great place to have a date or family gathering/business meeting.

We finally made it to Georgetown to explore a little bit! The smells drew us into the River Room, they were delicious! The view while you eat is beautiful of the water and boats. I had shrimp and scallop gumbo and hubby had a poor boy. Both were delicious!!! The sevice and atmosphere were perfect. It's sure to be a favorite on future trips!
