We were seated near the kitchen, so the noise level was too high. The host said they are working on this issue, so I think it will be corrected. Otherwise I rate this restaurant very high for a hotel restaurant in a small town.

Everything was excellent except the noise level Was extremely loud. We will definitely return but at another time during dinner service. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and service was exceptional.

Due to traffic issues we were thirty minutes late for our reservation. After calling the restaurant about this information, Katelyn said there would be no problem seating us when we arrived. She made us feel comfortable as she graciously took us to our table in the bar. Our delicious food and cocktails were served by Kim. Since we had a table with a view of the bar, we observed her expertise in making two excellent Old Fashioneds. Dinner was creative and perfectly prepared.

Finally, someone gets it right in Georgetown! The food was/is excellent. The four of us all enjoyed our entrees. Thursday We can only hope that the service and the food stays at the caliber that we saw last night.

Our food was ok. Some menu items were ok and some were decent. Nothing “wowed” us, especially for the price. Very expensive. The best part of our experience was our server, he was fantastic! We love Georgetown but we will most likely visit The Independent again for drinks only.

In town for one night and staying at the George. Made the reservation a week ahead on Open Table. Great experience the food was well prepared and flavorful. Wine list was adequate and I am sure in time will have more depth. The Independent is more upscale than other restaurants in Georgetown with much attention to detail and the servers are more attentive to your needs. I highly recommend!

Anniversary dinner. First time eating here. The place was fabulous and the food and wait staff were terrific. The staff had an anniversary card on the table signed by the employees; a very nice touch.

It was a very fun dinner out. The ambience is great. It is very lively, not the place for a quiet dinner The burrata salad was delicious. My flounder was very good, but a little overdone. All in all I think it is a great addition to the community, and we will certainly go again when we visit Georgetown.

What a treat! I struggled with a 4 or 5 star rating. Let me explain, some of the dishes were absolutely amazing...and I know good food. The roasted chicken has to be a BEST for me all around. Unique combo of ingredients I will definitely return for this one. My husband got the blackened flounder which was as delicious as he was expecting. She crab soup a must(even if you're not a big fan) very unique flavor ❤️ Peel and eat shrimp was spiced perfectly. Negatives: Sides ( mashed potatoes and rice under blackened flounder) was lukewarm and my hushpuppies were a little undercooked but they're a new restaurant and I'm confident they'll get this fixed. The seating was banquette's on one side and bistro chairs on the other. Bistro chairs were not very comfortable so if 2 or 4 go half will not be sitting pretty. DO NOT let any of the negatives keep you away. Get reservations now before this place gets to crowded to get it. Good job Independence!

Considering this is a new establishment I will give grace for needing time to get the kinks out. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive ( sorry, can't remember her name). My husband and I ordered 2 appetizers; grilled oysters and deviled eggs. Both were mediocre. The eggs lacked flavor and the oysters were at best room temperature. I had 2 different cocktails, a French 75 and espresso martini for dessert, They were good. The entrees were shrimp and grits and grilled chicken. The shrimp dish was good while the chicken was good it could have been cooked a tad bit longer though ,it was flavorful. We order an apple dessert, while it would have been better if actually warm it was good. Overall it was decent. I will try again maybe later in the summer.

Disappointing , very loud , sit very close to your neighbor table . Small portions for the money . We asked for some bread , they dont serve bread . Wasnt what I expected . No need to go back .

Fabulous meal! Scallops seared to perfection and the blue crab fingers were delicious. My husband enjoyed the blackened flounder. Staff was slammed as every table was filled and there was a private party dining. Took a very long time to get a cocktail and a glass of wine Restaurant was really loud. We will definitely dine there again.

Not bad for a new place. Some weak sides and food presentations but they are on the right track. Some of the wait staff looked angry. Others were as pleasant as can be. Hostess was accommodating to our party size change.

Our third visit since the opening in March. The food is still the star, and is excellent. The service now reflects that of a fine restaurant. Our 7:15 reservation turned into a 7:45 seating as the table reserved for us didn't clear, understandably not the restaurant's fault. Staff did the best they could to accommodate us. We will be back

I am so excited for Georgetown's newest hotel and restaurant! They did an amazing job designing the space! Our server was amazing, and will ask for him next time we go. Not sure if it was the high ceilings or crowd that was there, but the space was very loud. You had to almost scream to talk to the person beside or in front of you. The bar was running a little slow as well, but that is expected in a new place as they work out their kinks. The food could not have been better. We had the burrata and beet salads, scallops, fish of the day and the blackened flounder-it was delicious. The desserts were also amazing, we had the chocolate cake and key lime pie. We cannot wait to go back!
