Scott’s Bar-B-Que

Our continuing BBQ adventures around the US brought us to Scott’s Bar-B-Que. Some say the best in South Carolina, these cinder block pits using hickory, oak and pecan, locally cut, smoke whole hogs Wednesday thru Sunday in Hemingway SC. This hole in the wall, roadside treasure was everything! 🐷 🍖 🇺🇸 The ribs were special, lots of meat, tender and amazing. The ladies behind the counter were super friendly and the atmosphere did not disappoint

If you like HOT SPICY DRY PORK you my like this place.. I drove over an hour and was highly disappointed . They do not have a good variety of meats and only 3 sides potato salad, cold slaw and baked beans and no sweet tea . The only thing I enjoyed was the potato salad.could not eat the pulled pork or the ribs !!

The meat was good. A customer in the parking lot told us to skip the sides here and just get meat. He says the sides at another place were better. We still got the beans and potato salad. The potato salad was good. The portion size for potato salad was extremely small. Sat outside to eat under an awning where there were several tables.

I heard about Scott’s while up north from a guy who had gone to school in Georgetown. I ordered the pork platter with beans and potato salad and the chicken platter with same sides. Everything thing was delicious, the chicken fell off the bone.
Paying was easy with the different electronic cash options.

Today I wanted some BBQ from Scott's in Hemingway. I had the worst experience for the second time. Unfortunately the employees at this establishment are in need of customer service classes and etiquette they really don't know how to talk to customers and they have the worst attitude. 4 of the ladies and my niece almost when to blows in the restaurant. I will never support a business where the supervisor and her staff wanted to get physical with my neice, they jump up out the chairs and came from behind the counter. Which i wasn't worried about anything cause they didn't know who she had with her. I'm sorry I was not able to get video footage of what took place today, because it went so left real quick. But I will say this I will NEVER support them ever again. I hope no one else ever has to endure what me and my neice encountered today.
