I ate at the Lake Bowen Fish Camp on Sunday. The servers rushed me through and gave very small portions not at all like I used to get there. Some of the food was cold. When I sat down it took forever for the waitress to give us silverware and take our drink order. When she was asked to get the peppered vinegar she bluntly said "we don't have that!" Nice place to sit and watch the boats on the lake while you eat. I ordered the sampler platter which is enough for 2. All of the food comes fried. Everything was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very nice. It would be nice if they offered a broiled platter. Only negative is they use soybean oil. But if you are OK with that the food is delicious.
So, #1 it is a Cash Only business! 2, you can get your items broiled instead of deep fried, but otherwise everything is fried unless you ask. Portions are good sized. Catfish and large shrimp were good. Perch was too fishy for us. April was a fantastic server, ask for her. Beautiful view and good prices.
