Was not pleased at all. Drove from Abbeville to pick up an order I had called in. Got there and was told stuff we had ordered they were out of and not just one thing did she not know this when taking my order. So we decided in something else and just got our food and came home. Only plate that was not wrong was a chicken tender and fry plate. Our 2 club sandwich plates were not at all how we ordered them. So I called back to speak to manager heard him in back ground say he wasn't there so she came back and said that and that's he didn't know when he would be. Then I messaged him in restaurants site trying to do all appropriate things before leaving a review read it also no response. We chose this place because it had good reviews but do not recommend they just mad your order how they wanted not how we did.

When we first arrived we were a bit apprehensive. However, the food was incredible. Best burger I've ever had. The staff was attentive, friendly, quick to bring good service. Don't pass this one up just on sight alone. Just do it!

The service was slow an the waitress was talking to others or, the floor was dirty inside the restaurant, the reason they get a score of two is the cost for what you get an the time it took too get it, it was 2 adults an 2 children one is 4yrs old an the other is 2yrs old we were charged $50.00 for two pattie malts an two chicken kids plates all came with frys an drink, I can see a adult plate being around $8/9.00 but a child's plate being $12.00 NO that's way over priced, I recommend going around the corner on Main to the end an eat at the Iva family grill or drive up the road 81 into Starr to Jackie's both these places have a great pattie melt an other great food an frys an two adults can eat alot cheaperas a matter of fact 4 can eat for half the price we paid at John's Country Cooking Cafe, for now on we'll just take our business to one of the other restaurants in Iva , bottom line is you will not get your money worh at John Country Cooking Cafe

Went at 2:20 pm today. We get there and only peach cobbler and mashed potatoes were marked off the menu. Okay, not a problem. We ordered other items. After the waitress took the order we also found out they had no desserts when it was included in your meal, it wasn’t long before the food arrived. Completely wrong for both of us. Boyfriend order the country fried steak with white gravy, rice and gravy, butter beans and broccoli casserole with cornbread. He got the country fried steak, brown gravy, broccoli casserole and turnip greens? I ended up with the fried pork chop, rice and gravy and Mac and cheese only to get fried pork chop, rice and gravy, turnip greens and yams. We were extremely confused. When we asked about all the other stuff they we were told ‘Oh, well we were out of the butter beans, so I guess they just added other stuff.’ Never were we told they were out so we could choose something else in its place instead of the random items. Well, we both ran out of drinks and the waitress was no where to be found. Was not busy. At all. So we got up to get our drink refills. When asked at checkout if everything was good, the lady took off a discount for the inconvenience. In all honesty, it will be a LONG time before we return. It was completely unmanaged. The couple that came in after us actually had a choice on what they wanted instead of random items on the plate. The food overall was bland and too salty on the fried items. Just honestly disappointed after all the good we had heard of the place.
