Great place to eat, delicious Bandeja Paisa, I had it for 3 days in a row... I recommend it... I will miss it because I'm from out of town.

The best local salvadoreño restaurant. This is NOT Mexican food! This is authentic food from El Salvador. Pupusas are amazing. Great place for food. They also have a grocery store there with Central American drinks, spices, chips, cookies.. etc.

One of life's great joys is wandering through neighborhood bodegas - part grocery store/part butcher shop/part restaurant/part Western clothing store/part bakery - filled with cramped aisles of brightly packaged Latin American products and Spanish versions of U.S. favorites. Basically an Hispanic version of the Old West General Store! My two favorites (since you asked) are La Sierra (Selbyville, DE) and Ortiz Bakery & Restaurant (Vista, CA). The highlight of these joints is invariably, their little back-of-the-store restaurants, featuring a variety of dishes mostly unknown to Americans brought up on chain Mexican with their boringly identical menus of Fajitas, Burritos and Tacos. Central American cuisine features Yucca, Palm flower, and Plantains with more of a European influence than your average Mexican eatery. Bet you've never heard of Pupusas, Baleadas, Huduts, and Tamales wrapped in Banana Leaves! How good is this place? We had to wait on line with an assortment of families, and couples for almost 35 minutes. Once seated, a smiling server greeted us and asked for our drink order, then quickly realized we didn't speak Spanish. No problem, new server. In fact, we were the only two people in the restaurant during our visit that didn't speak Spanish (our loss). Though it takes a little while to be served (especially on weekends), the food is hot, flavorful and a bargain, not to mention a pretty good selection of Cerveza and other Latin beverages like Micheladas, Horchata and assorted fruit drinks. So the next time your family has a hankering for Spanish food, instead of visiting a generic LA CASA DE MEXICANO with its bottomless basket of stale chips and watered down salsa, check out El Centro Americano Restaurant instead!

This place has some of my favorite food in Charleston! The service is top-notch, the menu is fantastic, and the food is absolutely delicious.

The food is not bad, but totally overpriced. We paid about $50 for breakfast that we could have made at home in less than 5 minutes.

The waitresses were rude, unattended of the customers and the food wasn’t even that good to be waiting 25 minutes.I’ve seen most if not ALL of the waitresses were on their phone or talking to eachother this poor elderly couple was left waiting more than 15 minutes unattended waiting to order their food i could’ve gotten better AND FASTER service at dennys
