This was my first time ever visiting Mellow and Play Café—and honestly, I just kind of stumbled in while I was in town. I’m really glad I did.
The environment was immediately welcoming and laid-back. I sat down with one of their house specialty coffees—a toasted marshmallow and caramel creation that was absolutely to die for. Smooth, comforting, and just the right amount of indulgent.
While enjoying my coffee, I had the chance to talk with the woman behind the counter, who was an absolute delight. We chatted for a bit, and I also got to visit with a couple of customers who came in. The vibe? As chill and genuine as it gets. Just good people, good conversation, and a great atmosphere.
Before leaving, I grabbed an Italian cream soda to go—raspberry—and wow. I don’t say this lightly: it was incredible.
What really sets this place apart is their concept. You can bring your child in to play while you enjoy your coffee. Honestly… how could that ever be a bad thing?
Whether you have kids or not, if you’re looking for a great cup of coffee, a relaxed place to hang out, and genuinely good people, this is the spot. If I find myself back in the area, I’ll absolutely be stopping in again.

Had my daughter’s fifth birthday party here over the weekend and it was a great experience!! The ladies were so helpful and helped me gather supplies from my car, the children had a blast playing, the area was clean and ready to be set up. Coffee was also really yummy!! Will be coming back to play and for any party needs!!

Kate makes the best coffee hands down. I’m from Jesup visiting my Parents for the day and my dad took me here. I got the Dubai. It’s amazing. Not just saying that cause I’m energized from the caffeine. Please go try it. They also have these muffins that look delicious. When I come back to visit best believe I’ll be trying them. The staff isn't in the play room, just at the front where you can order your cafe drinks. This meant that the playroom was extremely loud and crazy. Children jumping off of things that weren't intended for, older children (10-12yo) being rough with the baby/toddler toys and scattering them throughout the play area. It was an absolute chaotic mess. I came with my 10-month-old and I was more overwhelmed than he was. The music was also way too loud. He was trying to play with some of the toys and at multiple times within the 5 minutes I attempted to stay there, he either had his toy taken away or was almost trampled. Before you get anything, you should definitely check the playroom and see if it's just a bunch of chaos first. We didn't stay for more than 5 minutes and quickly left.

Mellow coffee truck. Last people in line and had been for over 5 minutes and when next in line, still being the last people, get told the people in front of us are the last customers. After having walked away another group came up and ordered.

I recommend the lavender and mint lemonade! It is amazing! Definitely a drink that I can drink everyday!

My expectations weren't high when it came to the drinks. But they kill it here, whether it's a coffee, matcha , lemonade, really whatever you want. They make it taste amazing. Honestly I could just come here for the drinks.

I did not want to make a review publicly but I did fill out a form on their website for my complaint. Be weary of coming here to cool off on hot days. They have huge fans blowing warm air. We came on Sunday that the temperature felt like over 110 and debated going to Bizzy Bee but settled on Mellow and Play Cafe. There's no sign stating their HVAC system is down but other guests told me it is usually much colder in there. Unfortunately, my son is 2 and super active so he was sweating a lot inside. Any toys that make noise you cannot hear due to the sounds of the fans in the place. Inside some of the bouncy things it was unbearably hot due to the lack of air movement and the lack of AC. It was our first time and it is close to our house, but their customer service is not great. I expected a response back from an unhappy customer and nothing. So I am publicly posting this. We were better off cooling off at home and playing with what we have. Also be careful of the car that rolls down a huge ramp. If there aren't two parents at both ends, these kids can run into the younger kids or other adults down that lane.
