We are not from town but stopped by since we were headed to the Meat store a few doors down. I read so many great reviews that I knew it would be great. The people were awesome. Welcoming and helpful. The fried chicken was perfect...nicely seasoned and good crust. My husband got one that was a bit overcooked (which was obvious from the looks of it). Since it was so obvious, I coughed that up to being his error as he chose his piece. The mac and cheese was good- a variation between a typical Mac and cheese casserole and a creamy velveeta stovetop variety. The broccoli had been cooking so long that it had broken down a lot and had lost it's color- pure mush. The fried pork chop was terribly overcooked and tough. The little fried shrimp were like rubber. The spaghetti was rediculously sweet (like maybe they accidentally used sugar instead of salt). The chicken rings were just odd. The cabbage was terribly overcooked amd broken down. The lemon cake, okra and tomatoes, veg all, corn, green beans, lima beans, and cranberry or pinto beans were all just ok. I didn't try the baked chicken, rice, or gravy.

My daughter loves what she calls “country food.” It reminds her of her grandma’s cooking. I never cook country food, so when she wants something special, she specifically asks for Mully’s. It really is delicious - and at a great price. I know the people who run it and they are salt of the earth! For the best “country food” you’ll find, go check out Mully’s!

If you're in the mood for soul food or home cooking, this is the place. Good variety. The fried chicken is the best in town.
