Disorganized, chaotic, mediocre food. Haven’t had a worse experience in years anywhere, including fast food. Do not waste your money and time here.

I'm a photographer who does website shoots for restaurants and loved getting the opportunity to see the depth and variety of 1878 Butcher's Block menu! I tried the Reuben and the Blockhouse Crostini (*HIGHLY* recommend) and they were both awesome. The eagerness the kitchen staff had when they got to help finish off the remainder of the food I think tells you all you need to know.

Pretty expensive for a small sandwich, which was just OK, nothing to come back for.

We were passing through town and saw this place pulled up the menu and we were excited to try it. We ordered two sandwiches to go and they were both disappointing we won’t be back. The ruban was dry with almost no sauerkraut or 1000 island. The grasso wasn’t the best either why say sweet peppers when what you really mean are green peppers witch yes if you googles it counts but green bell peppers are bitter and other colors of bell peppers are sweet, the tomatoe wasn’t ripe and had no flavor, the sandwich was not balanced from the greasy meats. The French bread was good but that was the only part either of us liked.

Great experience! We went there for dinner in a Friday night for the first time not knowing what to expect, and we were pleasantly surprised.
Chloe and Zoe are the friendliest servers we’ve come across in a long time. You could tell they enjoyed working there and were on top of everything.
We had sandwiches, and they offered a gluten free bun for me which was awesome.
Sat around the bar and very quickly the locals started conversations with us, David the owner also took the time to greet people, including us. Excellent atmosphere with a real community feel to it, and good music!
We will definitely go back regularly.

What a cool little place in Landrum SC. All the staff is beyond nice and sitting outside under the tree is so much fun. We had the Block House Crostini and a drink. That Crostini is amazing and is a must appetizer.

Butcher is in the name, but sandwiches are the game here!

Don’t get me wrong, they have a few meat selections, but don’t expect a butchers case loaded with meats and different butcher style cuts.

However, I totally loved our sandwiches and beer! My hot take on the Club, the bacon was paper thin and I was expecting some nice thick smoked bacon…

The service was excellent and with a smile.

Great sandwiches, great service and great prices for deli meat. Great beer selection!

The Cuban Sandwich was amazing! Absolutely perfect. Our waitress was super sweet too. This was our second visit, and we will be back again.

We sat at the bar top dine in and ordered a bottle of wine off of their wine menu. The price for the bottle was $27. Our server told us there is a $10 collage fee. That is ridiculous. I've been to hundreds of restaurants in many different states over the past 4 decades and never once have I paid a corkage fee for ordering a bottle of wine off of the restaurants wine menu. Left a very bad taste in our mouth, no pun intended. And the wine was
certainly not worth the additional fee.
