Best In Upstate

Best in Upstate definitely recommends this coffee shop. The quiche was delicious as were the drinks. The atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable with an option to sit outside if desired. It's on the way to Lake Bowen, at the light at 292 and hwy 9 so definitely check them out if you are in the area.

Tried Mocha’s Mug for the first time today and it’s my new favorite! Coffee was DELICIOUS, cozy atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely be back very soon!

After reading previous reviews, it is pretty clear that this is not a place to bring anyone under the age of 13. They should really have a “no kids” sign. My child was not bothering guests, they were telling me how sweet and cute she was lol. I was right by the door and she just wanted to look outside and I kept her close to me. Yes she wondered off but i immediately grabbed her. She was not banging, screaming, etc. Just curious about people. It’s a shame cause the coffee is good. Used to really like the owners but won’t be back. Their responses to bad reviews are snarky and rude. Responding back about your “500 5-star reviews” is arrogant. It’s okay to not be kid friendly but maybe put a sign up and inform customers in a nice manner.

Just an awesome, cozy place. The best coffee, teas and breakfast items in the area. Denis, Lori, and their staff are fantastic at making you feel welcomed.

Making this post to remind myself to not get coffee here, if you don't like the taste of coffee I recommend them. But the coffee is lacking in coffee, I got a ice dirty chai with 2 shots of espresso (bc usually cant taste it when i order here) with oat milk, I still couldn't taste any coffee, it was super sweet and had a horrific after taste that I could not stomach. Maybe an ingredient was expired, all I know is it was $8 and it went down the drain ? beside this experience, it's been consistently sweet centered drinks rather then coffee centered. Not my forte. Service is great, atmosphere awesome, my coffee needs where not met. Update (never ask for vanilla in my drinks idk where you read that, and dirty chais I've ordered millions of times from every coffee place in town it's a very common drink and its a personal favorite, the fact that you'd argue is reflective, if they added vanilla I DIDNT ask for it, that must of been what the issue was!)

I regularly visit coffee shops all over Spartanburg, Polk, and Greenville Counties and have seen the full gamut of what they have to offer. One thing I've learned is that family-owned coffee shops too often start out great and then begin suffering in quality or customer service as the months/years go by. Mocha's Mug, I have to say, is one of the rare coffee shops that started out as a great spot...and is now superb. It seems like they're always making tiny improvements to this or that (already good) thing, meaning that the overall appeal of this shop just keeps growing! Their enduring commitment to serving their best and greeting each customer with a smile is truly the mark of Mocha's Mug.Pros:- *Fresh,* delicious bakery items (Literally everything I've tried here has been outstanding...and often still warm from the oven when ordering first thing in the morning! Their chocolate chip scones are the best I've had in the Upstate.)- Smooth, flavorful coffee (+made with local milk)- Positive vibes / warm, feel-good environment- Smiling, relational / customer-focused ownersThankful for this coffeehouse par excellence the owners have brought to Inman!

Elderly lady is very unappreciative and rude. She obviously isn't from the south. Baked items are great, but she wouldn't sell me what I wanted.

I had the Gingerbread Cookie Latte. I don't usually get flavored coffee but this was good! Not too sweet and really good flavor... I also had the Chicken and spinach quiche. very good as well. The two girls working were really friendly and helpful. Even before I mentioned it was my first time here. There is mixed seating with tables and a couple of sofas and chairs. It's a must try. Bathroom is also very clean.

I found this coffee shop online on Sat, 12/23/23, when I was searching for one nearby since Buck 'N Brew (Landrum, SC) & Tandem Creperie (Travelers Rest) were both closed. I'm so glad I found this shop! Once I heard from Lori (1 of the owners) that their maple latte was made from maple that was driven down from VT (I'm originally from NH), I decided to try it - SOOOO good! Denis (Lori's hubby) told me their milk was from a nearby farm, so I got that in the latte; it was so smooth! I also ordered a trio berry scone that was yummy! So impressed with this place & the friendliness of the owners! I'll def be back to try the Winterberry drink. MERRY CHRISTMAS & TY!

If a business continually pictures its products a certain way on its social media, a customer expects to receive their order that way. For example, I expected my drink served in a mug and my cinnamon roll served on a plate with real cutlery, as pictured on their FB feed. This is definitely not what I was served. Although I ate in, I received a paper cup, a cinnamon roll served in a to-go container (after finally asking where the rest of my order was because they had forgotten it) and a small plastic fork, which made it very difficult to cut the roll, which had been heated until it was rubbery. Definitely not the experience I was expecting or desired. Owning a business, I have given them lots of free, unsolicited written advertisement. If what I received is indicative of what/how they are now serving their product, I am going to remove them from my written recommendation as I was highly disappointed, especially since they were not even busy.

One of the most relaxing coffee spot in the upstate. Organic coffee, organic milk, freshly made pastries on site. The owners are local and they truly know their customers when they come in. I am constantly taking people there that have never been before and they also fall in love with Mocha’a mug. It is my go to for coffee. The best coffee in the upstate. They will treat you like family. ❤️❤️❤️Dietary restrictions: Quiche is gluten friendlyTheir organic milk does not have the protein that causes lactose issue. I am able to drink their their whole milk in my coffee with zero issuesKid-friendliness: Sofa and chairs nest to fireplace for easy conversation.
