Stax's Drake House is an absolute gem for anyone craving Southern comfort food! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels just like home. The Southern dishes are packed with flavor and the deserts are always perfect! Wouldn’t mind if they kept the tres leches and Oreo pie on the menu every Sunday ;). 10/10

Me, my husband, my parents and brother and sister-in-law ate there for the first time last night. If you want delicious, honest to goodness home cooked food- THIS IS PLACE FOR YOU! The Mac-n- cheese was the best I’ve had at a restaurant. While, I’m not a big meat eater, my family was raving about the fried chicken and pork chops! Mama just kept going on how good the broccoli was! I ate Mac n cheese Collards Mixed beans Mashed potatoes and gravy Biscuit And a super delicious piece of Buttermilk Pie I highly recommend and will definitely be going back *****5 stars!

Stax’s Drake House (Michael Stathakis) catered our Johnson cousin reunion dinner last night at the Echo Mountain Inn in Hendersonville. We are of Swedish descent so Michael made Swedish meatballs in a delicious gravy with mashed potatoes. For the Southern experience he served his amazing fried chicken, Mac n cheese, green beans, bourbon carrots, biscuits and sweet and unsweetened tea. It was a wonderful meal and Misty was a great server. She entered right into the fun and made sure we were full and our tables were clean. Thank you so much for being a wonderful addition to our family reunion. Mary Kylin

Michael, thank you for yet another delicious homestyle meal that takes me back to my grams cooking. shebhas been gone over 12 years now but one taste of your meatloaf or mac&cheese and I'm back in her home. You treat us like good, old friends and that means so much to my husband Ed and I. Thank you for your genuine warmth and welcoming atmosphere...and the tasty chicken to take home you gifted us😁

One of the best restaurants we have ever been too. We loved the Victorian era home, but the food oh man the food was amazing. I couldn't list anything that wasn't phenomenal. You just can't get these kind of restaurants anymore. Do not think "Golden Corral" think Grandma's Southern home cooking. Shana and Misty were our servers and they were so kind. We will definitely be back

We were not expecting all you can eat buffet...everything was full of flavor. Come with an appetite. Service was excellent. We will be returning.

My husband and I recently visited the Drake House. We opted for the buffet. Everything was wonderful. The soup, the vegetables, the sides, and the chicken (oh wow) were so good. Comfort food to say the least. I thought I would find my mother cooking in the kitchen. The service was also great. Never had to ask to refill water or our drinks. Were there to pick up our finished plates right away. We met Mike, the owner, and told him how pleased we were with everything. If there was anything that I could possibly complain about, it would be making the wonderful desserts just a bit bigger. Thank you again, Mike and staff. We will see you soon.

I’ve been by The Drake House many many times and never eaten there until last Sunday for brunch. Although it’s a little pricy for Landrum at $18.50 per person the food was delicious and there is an abundance since it is a buffet. The fried chicken was outstanding and I was able to fetch a few “pully bones” which I consider the best meat on a chicken. The veggies were fresh and nicely seasoned with a wide variety and the service was great. The service and dining experience could not have been any better with dessert included, chocolate pie was my choice. It was my first time at The Drake House but hopefully not my last!

I had eaten there years ago with a friend. Did a day trip to Landrum with another friend Told her how good it was & should even be better now with the new owners. We were both disappointed in the food overall. There was no dessert table or bar, they brought it to you & it was also disappointing. Especially for the price. It was definitely average or a bit below & I guess my expectations were very high.

We were invited to go with some friends to the Drake House a few days before Thanksgiving. It was then that we learned that the Stathakis family, of Greenville SC Stax fame now owns the Drake House. It was a very pleasing surprise and the food was outstanding. It is a buffet stylemeal with includes your drink and desert for $13.95. It's slightly more on Sunday, but worth it then also.. Anyone who us familiar with the Stax diners knows what to expecting, excellent food and service. Then we returned after the new year. Absolutely the best mixer greens I have ever eaten, along with the fried chicken, the grilled pork chops, the BBQ chicken, the biscuit, all the vegtables, the desert...everything was absolutely outstanding. It's a short drive off of I-26, but there is no way you will be disappointed. Delicious!

The food was good. $17 a person. i paid ticket but left no tip as expensive price left me no extra. She filled my water once, my husband's water twice and brought dessert (included in price). A worker (male who looked 24ish) followed us to our car asking about a tip. i explained I hadnt expected such a large bill. He was rude! I explained I had no money left after bill. He said was the service not good. His mother was the waitress. Rudest thing ever. Normally I do leave tips at restaurants. I called back the manager, Michael, was nice. He apologized. Food was good I will say again.
